On November 29, within the framework of his official visit to Turkey, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with Speaker of the Turkish Parliament Numan Kurtulmus.

At the meeting, Speaker of the Turkish Parliament Numan Kurtulmus highly appreciated the historical significance of the first official visit to Turkey by the Prime Minister of Vietnam, especially when it took place on the occasion of the 100th National Day of Turkey and the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Turkey (1978 - 2023); admired the dynamic development of the Asia- Pacific region, emphasizing the desire to strengthen cooperation with countries in the region.

Congratulating Vietnam on its achievements in economic and social development, the President of the Turkish Parliament was pleased to see that Vietnam and Türkiye, despite their geographical distance, always cooperate actively and constructively and have great potential to enhance cooperation in the fields of economics, trade, science and technology and defense industry...

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated the achievements that the Turkish Parliament and people have made over the past 100 years, thereby contributing to making Türkiye a leading economic, trade and transport center in the region. The Prime Minister appreciated the good feelings that the Turkish people have for Vietnam, and expressed his joy at the positive developments in the Vietnam-Türkiye relationship in recent times.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized Vietnam's foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, multilateralization, diversification, being a friend, a reliable partner and a responsible member of the international community, affirming the desire to consolidate and enhance comprehensive cooperation with Turkey on all channels of the Party, Government, National Assembly and people, thereby contributing to deepening the relationship between the two countries and two peoples.

At the meeting, the two sides discussed and agreed on many specific measures to further enhance the effectiveness of cooperation between the two countries in general and between the two National Assemblies in particular, including promoting delegation exchanges at all levels and enhancing cooperation in education and training, especially in the field of language, to enhance mutual understanding between the people of the two countries.

On this occasion, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh conveyed the invitation of National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue to Turkish National Assembly Chairman Numan Kurtulmus to pay an official visit to Vietnam. National Assembly Chairman Numan Kurtulmus happily accepted the invitation and expressed his wish to visit Vietnam in 2024.

Regarding parliamentary cooperation, the two sides agreed to increase contacts and exchanges between the National Assembly Committees, Friendship Parliamentarians' Groups, young parliamentarians and female parliamentarians of the two countries to share experiences in legislation, supervision and decision-making on important issues of the country; strengthen coordination and mutual support at multilateral parliamentary forums such as the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) and the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA); and strengthen supervision and promote the two governments to effectively implement bilateral commitments and agreements.

At the meeting, the two sides discussed a number of regional and international issues of mutual concern, in which Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh shared Vietnam's stance on resolving conflicts by peaceful means, through dialogue, and preventing conflicts from affecting the people.
