On July 24, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang received Chairman and General Director of Jadestone Energy Company (UK), Mr. Thomas Mitchell Little.

At the meeting, Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang affirmed that Vietnam always attaches importance to developing the Strategic Partnership with the UK; highly appreciated the strong developments in bilateral relations in recent times, especially since the two sides issued a Joint Statement on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Strategic Partnership (2010-2020) with a vision of upgrading relations in the next decade.

Bilateral trade turnover between Vietnam and the UK in 2024 will reach 8.5 billion USD, up 18% compared to 2023. In the first 6 months of 2025, this figure will reach more than 4.3 billion USD, up nearly 10% over the same period last year. Currently, the UK has 587 valid investment projects in Vietnam with a total registered capital of nearly 4.5 billion USD, ranking 15th out of 150 countries and territories in Vietnam.

Mr. Thomas Mitchell Little, representative of Jadestone Company, expressed his gratitude to the Vietnamese Government for its attention and facilitation for the company to effectively implement its activities in Vietnam in recent times; assessing Vietnam as a strategic market in Asia - Pacific , with great potential in developing the natural gas industry.

Representatives of Jadestone Energy Company informed about the progress of projects at Nam Du and U Minh mines; expressed the desire to continue expanding cooperation with Vietnamese partners in the coming time.

Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang highly appreciated Jadestone Energy's business plan in Vietnam, and affirmed that the Vietnamese Government welcomes international enterprises with capacity and experience to invest in long-term and stable business in Vietnam, especially participating in the development of Vietnam's national energy infrastructure.

The Deputy Minister emphasized that the Vietnamese Government will continue to facilitate foreign enterprises, including Jadestone Energy, to invest stably, effectively and sustainably in Vietnam.
