Duong Hoa Commune celebrates the 78th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day

Before the ceremony, leaders of Duong Hoa commune and armed forces, village cadres, representatives of families with meritorious services, war invalids, sick soldiers, and people who enjoy policies like war invalids in Duong Hoa commune simultaneously performed the incense offering ceremony at the martyrs' cemeteries of Dac So, Yen So, Cat Que, Duong Lieu, Minh Khai and the Sau Gia Bomb Monument. The delegates expressed their gratitude to the heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives, youth and blood for the cause of national liberation and reunification.

Party Secretary and Chairman of the People's Council of Duong Hoa Commune, Phung Ba Nhan, said that Duong Hoa Commune has 566 people with meritorious services and mainly relatives of martyrs; 695 representatives of families worshiping martyrs and more than 1,000 people who participated in the resistance war and participated in protecting the Fatherland and were awarded Medals.

In recent times, the work of caring for people with revolutionary contributions, activities of gratitude, repayment, and gratitude to families of war invalids and martyrs have always been of interest to the Party Committee and the communal government, achieving many results. Along with the timely, correct, and sufficient payment of monthly allowances to the beneficiaries, people with revolutionary contributions and their relatives have enjoyed preferential treatment in nursing, health care, housing improvement, visits, gifts, and savings books.

Every year, the commune organizes the launch of the "Repaying gratitude" Fund, renovates works honoring martyrs; and effectively implements the contents of Program No. 08-CTr/TU of the Hanoi Party Committee on "Developing the social security system, improving social welfare and quality of life of the people of the capital in the period of 2021-2025".

In Duong Hoa commune, there are currently no families of meritorious people belonging to poor and near-poor households.

On the occasion of the 78th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day, Duong Hoa commune launched the Gratitude Fund campaign. After more than 10 days, the fund received support and contributions from organizations, individuals and people with the amount of nearly 550 million VND.

The commune also organized the awarding of 1,015 gifts, worth more than 200 million VND, along with artifacts contributed by organizations and individuals, to people with meritorious services and policy families. Thereby, arousing patriotism, consolidating the foundation of national solidarity and promoting the country's moral traditions.
