Fashion that celebrates local culture

When setting up a runway at natural attractions, designers and fashion brands face more challenges than advantages, from geographical and weather conditions to administrative procedures... However, the program can bring interesting, eye-catching, unique experiences to guests and "good reputation" for the local tourism industry.

Da Nang City with the Han River port on Bach Dang Street has recently become a unique outdoor fashion stage called Where the fireworks shine (July 20). The two designers Vu Ngoc Tu and Dinh Truong Tung skillfully incorporated the most unique cultural features of the "fireworks city" into the program, from the patterns on the costumes to the scene introducing the new landmark of the city after the merger. Previously, the VUNGOC&SON brand made a big splash with two unique runways in Hoi An ancient town and Hoi An market (Da Nang city). The creative people successfully brought paper flowers, lanterns, cyclos and the most unique local cultural features to the catwalk through costumes, performances, music and stunning visual effects at sunset in the ancient town.

In Ho Chi Minh City, the Vietnamese brand's journey to promote tourism through fashion has stopped at famous historical sites such as the Saigon Railway Station, the General Science Library, the Post Office Building, the Ho Chi Minh City Museum, the Museum of Fine Arts, etc. "With the orientation of taking culture as a fulcrum, we are still persistent and persevering in the journey of using fashion to honor Vietnamese heritage; thereby contributing to promoting Vietnamese tourism and spreading love for the homeland," said designer Vu Ngoc Tu. In addition, the personal pages of beauty queens, singers, and actors participating in the show also contribute to promoting the beauty of local landscapes.

Sharing at the program "Where the fireworks are brilliant" , Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoi An, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City, said: "We always want to make Da Nang City a center for organizing events, cultural arts at national and international levels; and programs like this fashion show are a strong driving force for the city to continue to develop, affirm its position and orientation for the development of the cultural industry, and participate in the global network of creative cultural and tourism cities".

Creative perspectives refresh travel experiences

The World Natural Heritage Ha Long Bay has repeatedly become a beautiful backdrop for fashion; in which the catwalk located on Ban Chan Island once delighted the public when a series of photos from the Fashion Voyage program were shared on the media and social networks. Fashion director Long Kan is one of the pioneers, bringing Vietnamese fashion shows to the outdoors, passing through famous tourist destinations such as the Golden Bridge on top of Ba Na Mountain (Da Nang), Muong Thanh train station in Sa Pa (Lao Cai) or Phu Quoc Island (An Giang).

As a nature lover and always wanting to tell a fashion story following the flow of traditional culture, designer Le Thanh Hoa has returned to Ha Long Bay many times to carry out fashion projects. He also brought majestic landmarks of Ninh Binh such as Tam Coc Cave, Hang Mua, Trang An, Van Long Lagoon... into the Fashion Destination fashion project. Recently, this designer once again came to Trang An to organize the Fall Winter 2024 fashion show on Khe Coc Island. The show was highly appreciated for its aesthetics, the harmonious beauty of wild nature, fashion and national cultural values.
