Weather on June 10: Thunderstorms gradually decrease in the North, low pressure at sea

(PLVN) - According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, there were thunderstorms in the Northwest early this morning, and heavy rain in the North will gradually decrease from this afternoon. Regarding the weather at sea, the low pressure area has strengthened into a tropical depression.

Regarding the tropical depression in the East Sea , the low pressure area in the North East Sea has strengthened into a tropical depression.

The center of the tropical depression (at 4:00 a.m. on June 10) is at about 15.7°N – 115.7°E, about 360km east-southeast of the Hoang Sa archipelago. The strongest wind is at level 6 (39–49 km/h), gusting to level 8. The tropical depression moves slowly to the west at a speed of about 5 km/h.

Forecast (next 24–48 hours):

At 4:00 a.m. on June 11, the tropical depression moved westward at a speed of about 5 km/h and was likely to strengthen. The forecast location was at about 15.5 degrees North latitude; 114.4 degrees East longitude, about 240 km East Southeast of Hoang Sa archipelago. Wind strength was level 6-7, gusting to level 9.

The dangerous area in the East Sea in the next 24 hours (strong winds from level 6 or higher, gusts from level 8 or higher) is between 13.0 and 18.5 degrees North latitude and 112.0 and 118.0 degrees East longitude.

The risk level of natural disasters due to strong winds at sea is at level 3, affecting the northern East Sea area (including Hoang Sa archipelago) and the northern sea area of the central East Sea.

By 4am on June 12, the tropical depression is likely to strengthen into a storm, moving in a West-Northwest direction at a speed of 10-15km/h. The forecast location is currently in the Hoang Sa archipelago, at about 16.3 degrees North latitude; 111.7 degrees East longitude.

Wind force level 8-9, gust level 11. The danger zone in the next 48 hours expands from 13.5 to 18.5 degrees North latitude and from 109.5 to 117.0 degrees East longitude.

The disaster risk level continues to remain at level 3, affecting the North East Sea, the northern sea area between the East Sea and the offshore waters from Hue to Quang Ngai .

Warning: In the next 48-72 hours, the storm is likely to change direction, moving to the North-Northwest at a speed of about 10 km/h and is likely to continue to strengthen.

Forecast: The North East Sea and the North Central East Sea will have thunderstorms, strong winds of level 6-7, gusts of level 9; rough seas, waves 2.0-4.0m high. Ships in the danger zone should be aware of the high risk of thunderstorms, tornadoes, strong winds and big waves.

Regarding the weather on land , the Hydrometeorological Agency forecasts that in the early morning and morning of June 10, in the Northwest region, there will be moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms, locally very heavy rain with common rainfall of 15-30mm, locally over 70mm; in the Northeast region and the Northern Delta, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain with rainfall of 10-20mm, locally over 50mm.

Warning of risk of heavy rain (>60mm/3h).

In addition, in the afternoon and evening of June 10, in the Central Highlands and the South, there will be rain, moderate rain and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain with rainfall of 20-40mm, locally over 70mm; the area from Da Nang to Binh Thuan will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain with rainfall of 10-30mm, locally over 50mm.

Thunderstorms may contain tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong winds.

From the afternoon of June 10, heavy rain in the North gradually decreased.

Northeast

Cloudy, scattered showers and thunderstorms, especially in the Northeast and the Northern Delta, scattered showers and thunderstorms in the morning and at night, locally heavy rain. Light wind, at night the wind changes to the Northwest level 2-3. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind.

Thanh Hoa - Hue

Highest temperature: 32-35 degrees Celsius.

Da Nang - Binh Thuan

Cloudy, with scattered showers and thunderstorms during the day; scattered showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening, with some heavy rain in some places. Southwest wind level 2-3. Thunderstorms may cause tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind.

Highest temperature: 31-34 degrees Celsius, some places above 34 degrees Celsius.

Central Highlands

Cloudy, scattered showers and thunderstorms; in the afternoon and evening there will be rain, moderate rain and scattered thunderstorms, locally heavy to very heavy rain. Southwest wind level 3. During thunderstorms there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind.

Lowest temperature: 20-23 degrees Celsius.

Highest temperature: 27-30 degrees Celsius, some places above 30 degrees Celsius.

Southern Vietnam

Cloudy, scattered showers and thunderstorms; in the afternoon and evening there will be rain, moderate rain and scattered thunderstorms, locally heavy to very heavy rain. Southwest wind level 3. During thunderstorms there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind.
