Emulation to Win: Endogenous Strength for Armed Forces to Excellently Complete Their Missions

Provincial armed forces help people overcome consequences caused by floods.

Imbued with the teachings of President Ho Chi Minh: "Emulation is patriotism, patriotism requires emulation", in recent years, responding to the emulation movement in the entire army and the patriotic emulation movement launched by the province, the Party Committee and Military Command of Thanh Hoa province have regularly paid attention to leading and directing the effective implementation of the emulation movement, creating political and spiritual motivation, building the provincial armed forces strong in politics, ideology and organization; building a contingent of cadres and soldiers with steadfast political will, high determination, ready to receive and complete all tasks well, contributing to building a clean and strong party organization, a strong unit in all aspects, "Exemplary, typical", successfully completing assigned political tasks.

During the implementation of the TDQT movement, many models with good and creative ways of doing things have appeared, achieving practical results, such as: "Overcoming the sun, overcoming the rain, practicing enthusiastically", "One hour of enthusiasm is better than a day of formality", "Sweating on the training ground, bleeding less on the battlefield"; the movement "Self-study, self-training", "Superiors training subordinates" associated with the motto "Speaking briefly, writing concisely, giving correct and accurate advice"... Thanks to the good organization of the TDQT movement and emulation movements, the campaigns of all levels and sectors have contributed to the advisory activities of the provincial military for local Party committees and authorities on military and national defense work always being correct, accurate, high-quality and effective; 100% of training items have achieved good and excellent results; the provincial military has had more than 500 initiatives, improved models, teaching aids and working solutions put into application with high efficiency; Participate in competitions, sports and conduct drills with good quality, closely following the requirements of the task and the practical situation.

Promoting the glorious tradition of the army, the function of the "Working Army" in implementing the Project "Improving the quality and effectiveness of mass mobilization work of the Military Region 4 in special areas in Thanh Hoa province for the period 2023-2030 and the following years", associated with the National Target Program on socio -economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas, the period 2021-2030, the provincial Military has had many practical activities to create impressions and trust with the authorities and people in the province. Notably, many good models and practices have brought practical results such as: "The road to the village", "Army officers and soldiers help children go to school", "Cultural - sports area with strong military-civilian affection", "Clean water with military-civilian affection" in remote areas...

In addition, the provincial military officers and soldiers have promoted the tradition of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" to well implement the "4 together" (eating, living, working, and speaking with ethnic minorities) to grasp the situation, customs, habits, and needs of local people. From there, determine the content, program, plan, and form of helping people in a practical way. The focus is on well implementing activities to help people build infrastructure, environmental sanitation, build halls, cultural houses, schools, etc., mobilizing thousands of officers and soldiers of the regular force, militia, and reserve forces with tens of thousands of working days to help people overcome the consequences of natural disasters, search and rescue, and rescue. Along with socio-economic development and improving people's health, the provincial armed forces also mobilize people to eliminate opium poppies, build a "Drug-free area model" and fight against hostile forces, maintain political security and social order and safety in the area, making an important contribution to socio-economic development, consolidating the great national unity bloc, maintaining and enhancing people's trust in the Party, State and the armed forces.

In the past 5 years, we have mobilized ethnic people to destroy nearly 1,500m2 of opium poppy growing area; coordinated to resolve hundreds of internal conflicts among the people; propagated and mobilized 89 households to stabilize their lives; prevented 103 subjects with signs of illegal exit and 28 cases of illegal proselytizing. That is a solid foundation to promote socio-economic development, strengthen national defense and security, maintain political stability, and improve people's lives in the province.

Colonel Nguyen Xuan Toan, Deputy Political Commissar of the Provincial Military Command, said: “In the coming time, facing increasingly demanding tasks, the provincial military will continue to focus on emulation activities to make breakthroughs, overcome weaknesses, solve difficult and new tasks, create political motivation to promote collectives and individuals to strive to achieve achievements in performing tasks; worthy of the tradition of the twice-heroic Thanh Hoa provincial military, contributing to the successful implementation of socio-economic development goals to build Thanh Hoa into a “model” province as Uncle Ho always wished”.
