Removing difficulties for renewable energy projects

On July 23, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh signed Official Dispatch No. 118/CD-TTg of the Prime Minister on policies and directions to remove obstacles and difficulties for renewable energy projects.

Telegram sent to ministries, branches and 9 provinces and cities, including Dong Nai province, requesting urgent resolution of difficulties and obstacles for renewable energy projects under their authority. Specifically, the telegram requests the Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee (according to the administrative area after the merger) to direct the implementation and complete the handling of difficulties and obstacles for land-related procedures (increasing land use area, land lease procedures, conversion of land use purposes) of the projects named in Conclusion 1027/KL-TTCP issued in April 2023 by the Government Inspectorate related to renewable energy projects. Along with that, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee directs the organization to identify land for farms and farming related to rooftop solar power built on agricultural and forestry land with large capacity under the model of farm and farming investment.

Ministries, branches, and Vietnam Electricity Group, depending on their functions and tasks, shall preside over or coordinate with and support localities in implementing and completing the handling of problems related to land, planning, and electricity prices.

Dong Nai is a locality with great potential for developing renewable energy, especially solar power in industrial zones. In recent times, many businesses and investors have developed this type of energy to serve production, but for many reasons, the operation, connection contract signing, and electricity purchase and sale have not been implemented, leading to waste of resources and affecting the investment environment of the province.
