Which Vietnamese city is among the richest in the world?

It is the ninth city on the list of cities with the fastest growing population in the world over the past decade.

Ho Chi Minh City leads the country with GRDP in 2024 reaching 1.17 million billion VND, an increase of 7.17%, equivalent to 1.78 million billion VND at current prices.
Ho Chi Minh City's economy is assessed to maintain a stable recovery momentum with the growth rate of each quarter higher than the previous quarter. The service sector grew by 7.7%, accounting for 65.5% of GRDP, contributing 68.8% to the overall growth. The industrial sector grew by 7.26%, accounting for 18.2% of GRDP, but still recovered slowly.
In addition, total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue in Ho Chi Minh City grew steadily, estimated at more than VND1.2 million billion, up nearly 11%. Of which, retail sales of goods increased by 11%, accommodation and catering services increased by 9%, travel services increased by 55% and other services increased by 8%. Revenue from tourism in 2024 is estimated at VND190,000 billion, up 18.8% over the same period in 2023.
