On December 10, HelpAge International in Vietnam (HAI) in collaboration with the Provincial Association of the Elderly organized a tour to introduce the model of Intergenerational Self-Help Club in Hamlet 5, Khanh Cong Commune (Yen Khanh District). Participating in the tour were representatives of the Project to Support Disadvantaged Elderly People through Replication of Intergenerational Self-Help Clubs in Vietnam Phase 2 (VE085); representatives of a number of departments, agencies and branches of the province and Yen Khanh District.
The Intergenerational Self-Help Club of Hamlet 5, Khanh Cong Commune was established in October 2023 with 54 members. This is a club that benefits from the VE085 Project. VIE085 is a project that is supported by the Aging International (HAI) in Vietnam and calls on the Aging Korea (HAK) to mobilize the Korea International Cooperation Agency in Vietnam (KOICA) to continue funding. The project's goal is to contribute to improving the quality of life of the elderly, especially increasing income and improving health. At the same time, call for and mobilize support resources to continue establishing and expanding the activities of intergenerational self-help clubs... Since its establishment, the Intergenerational Self-help Club of Hamlet 5, Khanh Cong Commune has implemented activities: health care, income increase, culture, arts, visiting, exchanging, home care based on volunteers, raising awareness, knowledge, self-help and community support...

The delegates attended the monthly meeting of the Intergenerational Self-Help Club in Hamlet 5, Khanh Cong Commune; discussed the implementation results and sustainability of the Club; visited the model of home care for the elderly, the model of economic development for the elderly... Thereby, helping the delegates have a realistic view of the Club's activities, share experiences, initial results, difficulties that need support for the Club to operate sustainably and expand in the future.
