On the afternoon of July 6, at the Quang Tri Provincial Police Sports Gymnasium, the closing ceremony of the first Quang Tri Provincial Karate Clubs Open Championship - Hung Long Cup competition took place in a solemn atmosphere.
After 3 days of competition, athletes competed in many Kata (forms) and Kumite (sparring) events according to age and weight categories.
The organizing committee awarded prizes to outstanding individuals and groups. The Vietnam Karate Academy Club excellently led the medal tally with 31 gold medals, 25 silver medals and 43 bronze medals. Tuyen Hoa Club won second place with 13 gold medals, 12 silver medals and 17 bronze medals; third place went to Dong Hoi Talent Club with 12 gold medals, 12 silver medals and 22 bronze medals.
Mr. Nguyen Van Dung, Vice President of the Quang Binh Province Karate Federation (formerly), Deputy of the Organizing Committee of the tournament said: The matches of the tournament were dramatic and fierce, clearly demonstrate the martial spirit and elaborate preparation of the participating delegations.
The highlight of this tournament is the improved professional quality. The fighters compete with dedication, good technique and flexible tactics.
The tournament is not only a place for martial artists to show their talents, but also an opportunity for athletes to exchange, learn, accumulate experience and practice their competitive spirit at the highest level.
The 2025 Quang Tri Provincial Open Karate Club Championship attracted a delegation of more than 600 martial artists from clubs inside and outside the province, demonstrating the attraction and strong development potential of the Karate movement in the region.
This is also an important first step for Quang Tri Karate to continue to develop steadily, aiming for larger and more professional tournaments in the future.
