The section of National Highway 19 through An Khe Pass is implementing the project to enhance traffic connectivity in the Central Highlands. Since January 23, it has continuously rained in the An Khe Pass area, making the road slippery and muddy, and National Highway 19 has many heavy trucks circulating, leading to slow traffic and congestion.

Mud causes traffic jam on National Highway 19 through An Khe Pass

At around 3am on January 25, a heavily loaded tractor-trailer passing through An Khe Pass (in Tay Son District, Binh Dinh) got stuck in mud and could not move, causing a traffic jam. Therefore, from 3am to 10am on January 25, traffic through An Khe Pass was completely blocked, with a 10km long line of vehicles.

Road Management Office III.4 and Traffic Police of Binh Dinh and Gia Lai provinces sent forces to the scene to coordinate with relevant units to handle the incident and regulate traffic.

The investor of the project to enhance traffic connectivity in the Central Highlands region has also directed the construction contractor to mobilize human resources and arrange machinery and equipment to support the transportation of the above-mentioned tractor-trailer out of the muddy and sinking location and repair the muddy and slippery locations affecting traffic.

By around 12 noon on January 25, the traffic jam was basically resolved and vehicles began to flow normally through An Khe Pass.
