Simacai: Mobile propaganda to prevent and combat human trafficking in border areas

In response to the National Day for Prevention and Combat of Human Trafficking (July 30), the Women's Union of Si Ma Cai commune coordinated with local departments, branches and organizations to organize mobile propaganda at households in villages and hamlets in border areas to raise awareness and skills to prevent human trafficking crimes in the community.

The Women's Union coordinates to organize propaganda to prevent and combat human trafficking directly to households such as in border areas.

After the merger, Simacai commune has 35 villages, including 6 border villages. This is an area with a potential risk of cross-border trafficking of women and girls.

On the day of propaganda, the Women's Union of Si Ma Cai commune, together with local departments, branches and organizations, deployed to 65 households in the two border villages of Sin Chai and Lu Di San.

New tricks of human trafficking criminals are being propagated and warned to the people.

The propaganda content includes: warnings about new tricks of human trafficking crimes; knowledge, skills, and experience in preventing and combating human trafficking; informing the authorities when detecting signs of human trafficking crimes in the area...

The activity has attracted the attention and positive response from local people. Thereby, it helps people, especially women and girls of ethnic minorities in the border area, to raise their vigilance and proactively protect themselves from human trafficking crimes.
