In the coming time, the Ministry of Construction will continue to direct road management agencies and units to handle existing signs or signs that are limited in providing information to traffic participants.

In recent times, the work of reviewing and overcoming shortcomings and inadequacies in road signs and traffic organization has always been directed by the Government, the Prime Minister , ministries, branches and localities, in order to ensure safety and facilitate traffic participants.

In particular, after the Road Law and the Law on Road Traffic Order and Safety came into effect, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha directed relevant ministries and branches and People's Committees of provinces and centrally-run cities to conduct a general review, resolve and handle inadequacies in the system of traffic signs and lights, licensing, arrangement of stops, parking, vehicle storage, etc. causing traffic conflicts.

The Ministry of Construction has also issued many documents directing agencies and units to review and handle problems arising in traffic organization on a number of expressways and national highways. At the same time, to comply with the Road Law and the Law on Road Traffic Order and Safety, the Ministry of Transport (now the Ministry of Construction) has issued National Technical Regulations on Road Signs, which specifically stipulate the roadmap for completing the replacement of signs that do not comply with the standards, requiring immediate replacement of signs that are not in compliance and can easily lead to traffic insecurity.

Through the synthesis of the implementation results reports sent by agencies and units, it is shown that nationwide there are 10,520 sign locations with different levels of inadequacies, 8,996 signs (86%) have been fixed, affecting traffic participants and traffic safety; the remaining 1,524 signs (14%) are not inadequacies, but need some adjustment solutions to increase efficiency (many cases reflect correct and sufficient signs, but are installed on poles, need to invest in gantry brackets to hang, install signs on gantry brackets for easier observation by traffic vehicles), will continue to be supplemented and fixed after receiving additional State budget and other resources to implement in 2025 or included in the road infrastructure maintenance plan implemented in 2026.

In the coming time, the Ministry of Construction will continue to direct road management agencies and units to handle existing signs or signs that are limited in providing information to road users; identifying this as a regular and continuous task that must be carried out to ensure safe and smooth road traffic order and safety.

Regarding the construction of intelligent traffic systems, the Ministry of Construction has been directing investors of expressway construction projects to build expressway traffic management and operation centers; for expressways currently in operation, it will continue to complete and supplement intelligent traffic management systems to serve the operation.

In addition, in urban areas and local routes, People's Committees at all levels, based on the provisions of the Road Law and other relevant laws, will be responsible for investing in the construction of Smart Traffic Management and Operation Centers in urban areas.

In addition, functional units of the Public Security sector have invested in infrastructure to manage and monitor road traffic synchronously, modernly and effectively serve the work of commanding, operating traffic, and handling road traffic violations./.
