After the merger, 5 provinces/cities have 2 civil airports including Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Gia Lai, Dak Lak, An Giang.

After the merger, many provinces and cities have 2 airports.

According to the resolution on the arrangement of provincial-level administrative units in 2025 at the 9th session of the 15th National Assembly , from 63 provinces and cities, the administrative map was rearranged into 34 provincial-level administrative units (including 28 provinces and 6 cities).

According to updates from Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV), many provinces and cities have up to 2 airports including: Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Gia Lai, An Giang , Dak Lak.

Ho Chi Minh City has two airports, Tan Son Nhat and Con Dao, and this is also the only locality with intra-provincial flights.

After merging with Quang Nam , Da Nang not only has more international destinations but also owns two airports, Da Nang and Chu Lai.

Dak Lak has become a locality stretching from forest to sea, possessing two airports: Buon Ma Thuot airport and Tuy Hoa airport.

Likewise, the neighboring province of Gia Lai also has the conditions to attract a large number of tourists with two airports, Pleiku and Phu Cat. Of which, Phu Cat airport is a familiar destination for tourists when coming to Quy Nhon, Ky Co, Eo Gio, etc.

From July 1, the administrative names of some Vietnamese airports will change corresponding to the merger of provinces/cities.
