On the afternoon of October 2, Mr. Ha Huy Dong - Chairman of the Labor Federation of Dien Chau district, Nghe An - said that thousands of workers of Viet Glory Company Limited (located in Dien Truong commune, Dien Chau district) left the company before the afternoon working hours.
"Around 12 noon on October 2, after lunch, the workers left in unison. Everything happened in an orderly manner. About 90% of the company's workers did not come to work this afternoon," Mr. Dong informed.
Viet Glory Company Limited officially started operating at the end of 2019, specializing in manufacturing leather shoes for export. Currently, the company has about 6,000 employees.

Dien Chau District Labor Federation did not receive any feedback, suggestions or recommendations from workers.
Through gathering information from public opinion, the Chairman of the Dien Chau District Labor Federation determined that the main reason why workers stopped working collectively was to protest the company's excessively high production requirements while cutting overtime hours.
Workers said that this has directly affected their income. In fact, workers still have to produce a high number of products but are not counted for overtime.
"After receiving information from the workers, the Dien Chau District Labor Federation worked with the company's leaders. The company is considering and has not yet come up with a specific solution," said Mr. Dong.
Previously, on February 16, 2021 (the 5th day of the Lunar New Year), more than 1,400 workers of Viet Glory Company Limited also stopped working collectively to demand their rights. After some petitions were resolved, on February 18, 2021, the workers returned to work as usual.
One year later, on February 7, 2022, the first day back to work after the Lunar New Year holiday, nearly 5,000 workers of this company stopped working to demand their rights be guaranteed. By February 13, 2022, the workers had returned to work after their petitions were resolved by the company, in which workers received a 6% increase in basic salary, additional seniority pay for workers who had worked for 1 year or more...
