Free screening for early detection of diseases and abnormalities in young children

On this occasion, children will be examined, consulted, have free X-rays and ultrasounds to detect common diseases such as: urinary and genital abnormalities; liver - bile - pancreas, stomach, intestines, constipation; hand, foot and chest deformities; benign and malignant tumors.

In particular, children in difficult circumstances and ethnic minorities in remote areas will receive partial travel support from the Department of Pediatric and Neonatal Surgery - Viet Duc Hospital.

Associate Professor, Doctor, Doctor Nguyen Viet Hoa, Head of the Department of Pediatric and Neonatal Surgery - Viet Duc Hospital, said that each year the department examines about 10,000 children and performs about 2,000 surgeries, including many complicated pathological cases. With genitourinary malformations in children, if there are no external symptoms, it is very difficult to detect and treat early. These malformations can cause diseases such as hydronephrosis, urinary tract infections... if left untreated for a long time, it will affect the child's kidney function, causing kidney failure when growing up. This is currently the leading pathology among congenital malformations. Of which, hypospadias accounts for 1/300 male children.

Early intervention will help children avoid many risks such as urinary tract infections, affecting the structure of the genitals. Therefore, every year, the hospital organizes a free examination and consultation program for common diseases in children for early detection and timely treatment.
