Important changes to the exam structure
In this year's high school graduation exam, literature is organized in essay form, the remaining subjects are organized in objective multiple choice form.
Except for the foreign language subject, which uses multiple choice test format for all 40 questions with 0.25 points per question, the questions of the other multiple choice test subjects are divided into 3 parts. Part 1 consists of multiple choice test format, with 4 options to choose 1 correct answer. For each correct answer, the candidate gets 0.25 points. Part 2 consists of questions in true/false test format, with all 4 correct answers getting 1 point. Part 3 consists of questions in short answer test format.

Test-taking strategies
According to Master Tran Van Toan, teacher at TVT Math Edu Center (District 10, Ho Chi Minh City), when doing multiple choice and short answer tests, accuracy is an extremely important factor. After completing the answers, candidates need to take time to check the results, carefully checking each question, making sure that each answer is complete and without omissions.
TS needs to practice the ability to calculate quickly in mind to save time in math problems. Calculating quickly in mind not only helps to do the problem quickly but also limits errors due to lack of thinking time.
Mr. Toan gives the following strategy for taking the math test: Read the question carefully, clearly identify the data and requirements, pay special attention to the parameters and units of measurement; draw a diagram or description, with geometry or motion problems, drawing a diagram will help understand the problem clearly; check the model again, make sure the equation or expression established is suitable for the real situation; check the answer, compare the result with reality, avoid errors due to calculation or misunderstanding the question.
For literature, Master Nguyen Phuoc Bao Khoi, lecturer at Ho Chi Minh City University of Education, guides how to get the maximum score in reading comprehension and high scores in differentiation questions. Based on the structure of the illustrative exam, the system of questions according to the level of thinking, at the level of knowing, state 1-2 ideas of content that meet the requirements of the question; at the level of understanding, state 2 ideas, separate ideas clearly when answering and each idea needs to be expressed in about 2-3 lines; at the level of application, you should answer with at least 2 contents. With the requirement of writing an argumentative essay, Master Khoi said that it is necessary to write an essay with a complete introduction, body, and conclusion with a capacity of about 1 and a half pages of exam paper. During the argumentation process, you must present evidence, without spelling mistakes/expression errors; have a thesis related to the content, and compare/expand.
Avoid regrettable mistakes
To help candidates achieve the best results in the graduation exam with many changes, Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, reminded candidates to follow the regulations when taking multiple-choice tests: Take the test on the pre-printed multiple-choice answer sheet (TLTN), only fill in the registration number, test code and answer boxes with black pencil. In case of filling in the wrong answer or wanting to change the answer, you must erase the pencil in the old box, then fill in the box you choose. Fill in the blanks at the top of the TLTN accurately and completely, write the registration number and fill in the numbers (including the zeros in front), fill in the correct test code on the two test receipts.

For the subject of information technology (a new subject in this year's graduation exam), the Department of Education and Training's leaders noted that in the form of multiple choice questions in the form of true/false, in addition to the 2 general questions, candidates must choose 2 questions according to the orientation of computer science or applied information technology. Candidates who choose which orientation cannot do the questions of the other orientation. If they do both, they will not be scored for these questions.
This year's exam will have candidates from the 2006 and 2018 generaleducation programs participating. Candidates taking the 2006 program when bringing the Atlas into the exam room must clearly write their full name and registration number on the cover page of the Atlas and submit the Atlas to the invigilator for inspection. The invigilator will return the Atlas to the candidate at the beginning of the geography exam, collect it immediately after the end of the exam, and only return it when the candidate completes his/her last exam in the combined exam.
