On June 26 and 27, the 2025 High School Graduation Exam will take place. This is a special graduation exam compared to previous years, when it was the first exam according to the 2018 General Education Program, and it took place close to the time of preparation for implementing the 2-level Local Government model, merging Binh Phuoc and Dong Nai provinces.

Talking to Dong Nai Newspaper about the preparation for the exam, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee NGUYEN SON HUNG, Head of the Steering Committee for the 2025 Provincial High School Graduation Exam, said: "The Provincial People's Committee pays special attention to the exam and at the same time creates all favorable conditions for the exam to take place safely, seriously and improve the quality of the exam."

Be proactive early for important exams

Could you tell us what the scale of the 2025 high school graduation exam taking place in the province this year is?

- In the 2025 high school graduation exam, Dong Nai has a total of 36,758 candidates registered for the exam, including 28,932 high school candidates and 7,826 continuingeducation candidates. Compared to previous years' graduation exams, this year's exam has nearly 3,000 more registered candidates. Dong Nai is the province with the highest number of registered candidates in the country, after Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Thanh Hoa and Nghe An provinces.

In addition to the larger scale of this year's exam, what other new points has the province noted in the exam preparation process, sir?

- The 2025 high school graduation exam has many important new points, so the exam organization must be prepared more carefully. First of all, this is the first high school graduation exam that candidates will take according to the 2018 General Education Program. However, the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) still allows candidates who have completed grade 12 from 2024 or earlier to take the graduation exam according to the 2006 General Education Program. In addition, the number of exam subjects and exam time will be shortened, thereby reducing pressure on candidates.

How has the province prepared for this year's graduation exam, sir?

- It can be said that the high school graduation exam is a very important exam, which is of special interest to the whole society. As a province that always has a large number of candidates registering for the exam every year, the leaders of the provincial People's Committee always proactively direct the Department of Education and Training to prepare and organize this exam well.

In early May, the Provincial People's Committee directed the Department of Education and Training to organize a trial graduation exam for 12th graders, which was designed by the department. This trial exam is very important to help students gradually get used to the pressure before the real exam, and for teachers to practice invigilation before the upcoming new exam. Through the results of this trial exam, the Provincial People's Committee directed the Department of Education and Training to continue to request high schools and continuing education centers to increase support for 12th graders to review, so that when entering the official exam, they will have more confidence and higher results.

Close coordination, ensuring safety and compliance with regulations

How has the Provincial People's Committee directed the coordination between departments, branches and localities for the upcoming exam?

- As I said above, the annual high school graduation exam is a very important exam, so in addition to the direction from the beginning of the school year, in mid-April, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee signed a decision to establish the Steering Committee for the 2025 Provincial High School Graduation Exam. In addition to the head of the steering committee, led by the leader of the Provincial People's Committee, there are also leaders of the Department of Education and Training, the Provincial Police and the Department of Finance as deputy heads. Leaders of departments, branches and localities are assigned responsibilities as members of the steering committee, and the steering committee will be responsible to the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for the preparation and organization of this important exam.

The Department of Education and Training - the standing agency of the Provincial High School Graduation Exam Steering Committee 2025 - is closely coordinating with relevant departments, branches and localities, especially the Provincial Police, to prepare the best conditions for the organization of the exam. The direction of the Provincial People's Committee for this year's exam is to proactively coordinate, prepare carefully, organize closely, ensure absolute safety, improve quality and efficiency.

What are the issues of facilities and human resource mobilization for organizing the exam, sir?

- This year, the number of candidates taking the exam has increased, so the number of exam sites in the province will also increase. The new point is that in addition to 64 exam sites for candidates taking the exam according to the 2018 General Education Program, the province also has 2 exam sites for independent candidates, who will take the exam according to the 2006 General Education Program. These 2 exam sites are located by the Department of Education and Training in Bien Hoa city and Thong Nhat district for the convenience of candidates. Regarding the exam sites in the province, the Provincial People's Committee has requested the Department of Education and Training to survey and select high schools and continuing education centers with good facilities and convenient traffic locations to facilitate candidates to take the exam, while ensuring absolute safety in all aspects.

To mobilize resources to ensure the exam, the Department of Education and Training mobilized more than 5,600 teachers and staff to perform exam invigilation duties, nearly 320 staff to perform exam site leadership duties and exam site secretaries. In addition, the Provincial Police and the Department of Health mobilized more than 500 staff and employees to ensure security, order and health for all exam sites. Immediately after the exam ended, the department continued to mobilize 500 more staff and teachers from high schools to perform exam marking duties. The staff and teachers mobilized to perform this exam have been reviewed by the Department of Education and Training, and have specific training steps on professional skills, exam invigilation regulations, and exam inspection in accordance with regulations.

The 2025 high school graduation exam takes place in a condition where the whole province is focusing on restructuring the apparatus according to the 2-level local government model. How has the Provincial People's Committee directed departments, branches, especially districts and cities where the exam sites are located?

- The 2025 provincial high school graduation exam will take place close to the time of implementing the 2-level local government model, eliminating the district level and leaving only the provincial and commune levels. Therefore, since May, the Provincial People's Committee has met with leaders of departments, branches and district and city People's Committees to thoroughly grasp the coordination work to prepare for the exam. The province requires leaders of district and city People's Committees to closely coordinate and provide maximum support to exam venues in the area. The province requests the Department of Education and Training and the Provincial Police to closely coordinate to ensure that the exam takes place safely, seriously, and in accordance with regulations, while at the same time improving the quality of the exam.

The working group of the National Steering Committee for the 2025 High School Graduation Exam, led by Deputy Minister of Education and Training Pham Ngoc Thuong, has just inspected the organization of the exam in Dong Nai. The inspection group gave a good assessment of all aspects of the exam preparation process. However, the province requested the Department of Education and Training, sectors and localities not to be subjective but to always be proactive. Each stage in the preparation and organization of the exam must clearly define the people, the work, the responsibilities and ensure absolute safety. Candidates will be given the best possible conditions throughout the exam, but must strictly follow the exam regulations.
