In addition to amateur players with formidable skills, the presence of nearly a dozen pairs of athletes who are artists, actors (singer - actress Minh Hang, actor Binh Minh, Dong Anh Quynh, Ba Cuong, musician Nguyen Hoang Duy, singer Dai Trang...) or journalists contributed to creating color for the tournament, which was first introduced to pickleball fans in Ho Chi Minh City. Journalist Dung Phuong (Sai Gon Giai Phong Newspaper) shared: "Participating in the tournament is an opportunity for us to exchange, learn, and improve our pickleball skills. Our goal is to go as far as possible".
THE 8386 Pickleball Club, the host of the tournament, has completed the preparation of the field and facilities for the competitions. The Organizing Committee decided to reserve 2 fields for the athletes to warm up and the remaining 6 fields for competition, ensuring the progress and schedule of the entire tournament.
8386 Stadium is built to international standards
Ms. Phan Thi Thanh Lan - Deputy Director of Quang Tuyen Sports Company Limited, Club Manager - said that THE 8386 stadium cluster is built according to international standards, ensuring the strictest requirements on competition conditions, as well as the highest safety for players.

Regarding professional assurance, referee Nguyen Anh Thi said: "The referees assigned to work at the tournament have all been fully trained, and have recently attended professional training courses organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Tennis - Pickleball Federation as well as the Vietnam Sports and Physical Training Department (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism ). They will apply the latest Pickleball rules in 2025 to ensure accuracy and fairness for all athletes."
Attractive competitions
According to the regulations of the 1st Pickleball Tournament of the Labor Newspaper - 2025, the qualifying matches will take place in 1 round, each round will have 11 points and change the field from 6 points, 2 points away is the win from 10-10 points with the final score being 15; from the knockout round, each match will have 1 round, each round will have 15 points and change the field from 8 points, 2 points away is the win from 14-14 points with the final score being 21. As for the final matches, the competition will be in the format of 3 rounds, 2 wins, each round will have 11 points.
The pairs will compete in a round robin in groups according to content and age, with the two pairs with the best results in each group advancing to the quarter-finals. From here, the pairs will compete in a knockout format, with the winning pair advancing to the semi-finals and finals of each event.

Mr. Bui Thanh Liem - Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper, Head of the Organizing Committee of the tournament - said that the 1st Pickleball Tournament of Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper - 2025 was held on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025) and the 50th anniversary of the founding of Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper (July 28, 1975 - July 28, 2025).
"Pickleball is a sport that is developing strongly in Vietnam. The Pickleball Tournament of the Lao Dong Newspaper is organized with the enthusiastic participation of many athletes, the response of many press agencies, businesses, social organizations and accompanying units, hoping to create a positive effect, contributing to the impact on the awareness of sports training of the masses, improving physical health and spiritual and cultural life in the community" - Mr. Bui Thanh Liem informed.
In all competitions, the Organizing Committee will award the first prize: a cup, 6 million VND, 2 pairs of pickleball shoes and 1 voucher for a business class lounge at Tan Son Nhat airport; second prize: cup, 4 million VND and 2 boxes of 6 balls; third prize: cup, 2 million VND and 2 boxes of 3 balls each.
