Four years ago, Mr. Mang Xuan Phung was elected as a prestigious person in Dong Cau village, Suoi Tan commune. From a poor household, he rose up to do good business, and at the same time shared his experience to help many other families develop their economy to escape poverty. Typical examples are the families of Mr. Mang Thanh and Mr. Mang Van Hoa Minh Tan - thanks to growing nearly 4 hectares of off-season mango, each year earning more than 100 million VND. Leading us on a clean concrete road, past lush green mango gardens, Mr. Phung excitedly shared: "People's lives are increasingly improving, with an average income of more than 30 million VND/person/year. Most households have built solid houses, purchased essential items, and maintained a green, clean, and beautiful environment."

In Va Ly village, Son Tan commune, Mr. Bo Bo Lo - a prestigious person in the locality said: Thanks to the support from national target programs and the mobilization work of village elders and village chiefs, people have boldly switched from ineffective cashew trees to trees with higher economic value such as: durian, mango, Thai custard apple..., helping many households have stable income.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuoc Ngoc - Vice Chairman of Cam Phuoc Tay Commune People's Committee, the district has established a propaganda team for economic development for ethnic minorities, in which prestigious people are active members. They have contributed to propagating support policies, introducing new techniques and suitable production models. In 2023, Cam Phuoc Tay commune will meet new rural standards, with great contributions from prestigious people and local ethnic minorities.
According to the report of Cam Lam District People's Committee, by the end of 2024, the poverty rate in ethnic minority communes will be only 0.7%, near-poor households will account for 14.2%. Two ethnic minority communes, Suoi Cat and Cam Phuoc Tay, have met new rural standards. 100% of communes have national grid electricity, car roads to the commune center are asphalted or concreted, and all villages have hardened car roads to the center.
