The Vietnam Chess Federation has just announced the “ Child Chess Prodigy 2025” tournament, launched nationwide for children aged 6-15, with many new features in both form and content. According to the announcement, this year’s tournament for young players has been improved in a youthful direction, bringing the traditional sport closer and more attractive to the younger generation.

In addition to the competition journey attracting contestants nationwide, the tournament also incorporates Vietnamese cultural values ​​through the "Rach doi son ha" chess set, recreating the Trinh - Nguyen conflict scene, inspired by the comic book "Co Chua"; The official logo is inspired by Dinh Gio and the Tibetan prayer wheel symbol, representing the spirit of wisdom and patience; The Pearl mascot - a descendant of the Dragon...

The tournament kicked off on August 28 and registration is open from September 1 to October 26. The qualifying round will take place in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City from November 8–16; the national finals will be held on December 6–7 at the Ton Duc Thang Museum (Ho Chi Minh City).

This year, Chess Prodigy has a rich prize structure: in the qualifying round, players can receive prizes from 300,000 VND to 5 million VND. In the final round, the champion receives a trophy and 30 million VND; the second, third, and fourth prizes are worth 10 million, 5 million, and 3 million VND respectively.
