At the closing ceremony, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong, Head of the Festival Steering Committee, affirmed: “The 2024 International Dance Festival is truly a colorful art festival, where artists from 9 countries come together to exchange, discuss and honor the unique values of dance art.”

The Organizing Committee awarded Silver Medals to 10 performances by domestic and international art units.

Mr. Dong emphasized that the dance performances brought the audience many rich emotions, from expressive dance dramas to traditional, folk and contemporary dances. Each performance is a story, a unique cultural slice, contributing to creating a lively and unique cultural exchange space.

This year’s festival saw a great deal of investment from international troupes. Performances such as “Jagad Jiwa” by the Indonesian troupe, vibrant performances from Malaysia and Laos, and the exquisite fusion of Vietnamese folk music and Indian traditional dance all left a strong impression on the audience. These works not only showcased the talent and creativity of the artists, but also demonstrated the diversity and richness of international dance.

People's Artist Nguyen Cong Nhac, Chairman of the Arts Council, commented: "The dance works at this Festival have truly and deeply reflected the diverse lives of society and people through the cultural prism of each country."

He especially appreciated the creativity and innovation in performances such as "Nang May" by the Vietnam Dance Academy and "Hoa tinh nhan gian" by the Military University of Culture and Arts. These works not only demonstrated the smooth combination of traditional and modern art but also brought deep emotions to the audience.

At the end of the Festival, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism decided to award 5 Gold Medals to the best performances, including "Hoa tinh nhan gian" (Love Painting), "Harvest" by the Lao art troupe, "Contemporary dance 'Jagad Jiwa'" by Indonesia, "Nang May" and "Ly Ngu vong nguyet" by the Vietnam National Opera and Ballet Theater.

The 2024 International Dance Festival has come to an end, but the strong impressions of a top-notch art festival will remain in the hearts of the audience. This is not only an opportunity for artists to showcase their talents, but also an opportunity for the Vietnamese and international dance industry to continue to develop, exchange and spread cultural and artistic values everywhere.
