Long Thanh Airport Phase 1 investment capital adjusted to nearly 4.7 billion USD

(Dan Tri) - Long Thanh Airport has a total investment increase of about 606 billion VND compared to the 2020 decision.

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha has just signed a decision approving adjustments to the investment project to build Long Thanh International Airport phase 1.

Accordingly, the total investment of the project increased by about 606 billion VND compared to the initial decision in 2020, reaching more than 109,717 billion VND, equivalent to nearly 4.7 billion USD (calculated according to the exchange rate of 1 USD = 23,390 VND announced at Vietcombank on May 25, 2020). The project implementation period is in the period of 2020-2026 (basically completed in 2025).

In addition, the above decision also adjusts and supplements the investor of component project 4. Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee organizes the selection of investors for the following projects: Fuel pipeline system for aircraft from the source port to the boundary of Long Thanh International Airport; Airport city; Aviation industrial park; Airline operation center.

The Ministry of Construction organizes the selection of investors for aircraft maintenance areas, from hangar (aircraft maintenance) No. 1 to No. 4, cargo terminal No. 2, express cargo terminal, and cargo warehouses No. 5 to No. 8.

Vietnam Airports Corporation invests in the following items: cargo warehouses from No. 1 to No. 4, solar power system, technical infrastructure synchronously connected with aviation service works.

Long Thanh International Airport Phase 1 has 2 runways; a passenger terminal and synchronous auxiliary items with a capacity of 25 million passengers/year and 1.2 million tons of cargo/year. The two runways are 4,000m long, 75m wide and the taxiway and parking system ensures the operation of all types of aircraft to meet the transport capacity.

Component Project 3 - Essential works of the Airport implemented by the airport operator. Items include general infrastructure; works at the airport area; aircraft parking lot; aircraft fuel supply system; passenger terminal; cargo terminal No. 1, parking lot, port management building and other auxiliary works.
