Samsung upgrades Galaxy Z Flip7, launches new low-cost version

Galaxy Z Flip7 launched with Galaxy Z Fold7 at Samsung Unpacked event in New York at 10am on July 9 (9pm on July 9, Hanoi time). Samsung's clamshell folding model retains the same design as the previous generation, but is thinner and increases the screen size. The product comes in three colors: red, navy blue, black, and a special mint green color that is only sold online.

The Galaxy Z Flip7 clamshell phone is thinner, has increased dual screen size, new processor chip, increased battery capacity, and better AI support.

The external display, called Flex Window, has increased in size to 4.1 inches, taking up the entire front with two holes for the main camera, replacing the 3.4-inch folder-shaped display on the previous generation. The ability to personalize images and features on the Z Flip7's external display is also better thanks to the increased size.

The inner screen is raised to 6.9 inches, 0.2 inches larger than the Galaxy Z Flip6, using a Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel, while the outer screen is SuperAMOLED. Both have 2,600 nits of brightness, Full HD + resolution and 120 Hz refresh rate. The increase in size and thinner bezels help the Z Flip7 not be as long as before, the screen ratio is more even, improving the user experience.

The device is equipped with the Exynos 2500 chip manufactured on Samsung's first 3nm process with better performance than the previous generation. The device still has two configuration versions of 12 GB RAM and 256 or 512 GB internal memory. Galaxy Z Flip7 continues to be the most powerful clamshell smartphone today. Knox security technology has been improved to protect user data when using AI features.

The strength of Samsung's foldable smartphone line this year is its deep support for generative AI. Users can use both the inner and outer screens to access Gemini Live, use the camera to scan and receive direct responses, or share information from the screen... The ability to understand Vietnamese naturally is a strength of Samsung smartphones compared to competitors.

The device is equipped with two cameras with a 50 megapixel main camera, a 12 megapixel super wide angle and a 10 megapixel selfie camera. When taking pictures, the camera border will have a ring light effect to remind you of the best selfie angle. Samsung also improved the shooting interface to be more intuitive, users can swipe to zoom, display the timer... The new generation ProVisual Engine with AI technology helps images have accurate colors, better night shooting and noise reduction capabilities, and expanded photo editing features compared to the previous generation.

The Galaxy Z Flip7 is 6.5mm thick when opened and 13.7mm thick when closed, thinner than the 6.9mm and 15.1mm of the Z Flip6. However, the battery capacity has increased to 4,300mAh from 4,000mAh of the previous generation. The device uses 25W fast charging with support for wireless charging and reverse charging.

On the Galaxy Z Flip7, Samsung improved both the hinge and the Armor Aluminum material to increase the durability of the product. The device still retains IPX8 water resistance but is not dustproof.
