On the morning of June 26, Monterrey had a big 4-0 victory over Urawa Red in the final match of Group E of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.
The Mexican side sent out their first warning in the third minute when Alvarado hit the crossbar with a header. However, it was not until the 30th minute that the game opened.
Nelson Deossa fired a cannonball from 30m away, the ball curved uncomfortably, leaving Urawa Reds goalkeeper Shusaku Nishikawa just standing there watching.
Just 4 minutes later, from a smart pass from Jesus Corona, German Berterame escaped and calmly cushioned the ball neatly into the far corner, doubling the gap.

The nightmare of the Japanese representative did not stop. In the 39th minute, it was Jesus Corona's turn to put his name on the scoreboard. He dribbled the ball about 25m away before unleashing a classy long-range shot that gave the opposing goalkeeper no chance to block.
Urawa Red could not make a comeback. In the last minutes of stoppage time, Berterame completed his own double and sealed a 4-0 victory for Monterrey.
This victory helped Monterrey (5 points) rank 2nd in Group E after Inter Milan (7 points). River Plate (4 points) and Urawa Red (0 points) were eliminated.
The Mexican representative's next opponent in the round of 16 will be Borussia Dortmund.
39-year-old veteran Sergio Ramos is having an extremely impressive tournament as the “rock” in the Monterrey defense. At the same time, the former Real Madrid star is also the leader leading the young players to fight. He also left his mark with a goal against Inter Milan in the opening match.
