On an individual level, FIVB praised the opposing center Pimpichaya Kokram, who scored the most points in the match with 19 points (17 attack points, 2 blocks). Middle blocker Thatdao Nuekjang was also mentioned as a standout player with 16 points (11 attack points, 4 blocks, 1 serve). In addition, center Chatchu-On Moksri was quoted as saying: "Today was a really great experience for the team. We were surprised by how many blocks we had. But I believe the team can play better, and will continue to improve in the next matches."
The victory in the opening match against Egypt helped Thailand gain 3 full points and top Group A after the first round. In the remaining match, the Netherlands beat Sweden 3-2. Thus, the Netherlands ranked second with 2 points, Sweden ranked third with 1 point. Egypt ranked bottom of the group with no points.
The Thai women's volleyball team will face Sweden in the second match of Group A on August 24.
