Conference on solutions to promote the application of science and technology, innovation and digital transformation in the field of cooperatives

On the afternoon of August 28, in Nha Trang ward, the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance (VCA) in coordination with the Institute of Science, Technology and Environment organized a conference on solutions to promote the application of science and technology, innovation and digital transformation for cooperatives and members of ethnic minorities and mountainous areas.

Realizing Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo , which sets the goal that by 2030, Vietnam will become one of the pioneering countries in developing and applying digital technology, innovation, making science and technology truly become the main driving force for socio-economic development; as well as Resolution No. 03/NQ-CP dated January 9, 2025 of the Government promulgating the Specific Action Program to implement Resolution 57, in recent times, the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance has proactively implemented many practical and effective activities to promote the application of science, technology, innovation and digital transformation in the collective economic sector and cooperatives. Specifically: In the construction and implementation of technology infrastructure, the project to modernize information technology has been implemented; Actively implement the Government's programs and projects on supporting startups... In particular, the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance has completed the construction and put into operation the Online Product Market - a specialized e-commerce platform exclusively for cooperatives and ethnic minority members, helping people reduce intermediaries, increase product value and improve their lives.

Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Trinh Minh Hoang affirmed that in recent times, cooperatives in the province have made many efforts to apply technology, scientific and technical advances, and link production, creating high economic value and productivity, helping farmers escape poverty and become rich legitimately. Typically, cooperatives growing durian in Khanh Son; cooperatives growing green-skinned grapefruit in Khanh Vinh; cooperatives growing corn and apples in Ninh Son; cooperatives growing melons in Bac Ai; cooperatives growing asparagus in Ninh Phuoc, Ninh Hai, Thuan Bac... have contributed to promoting sustainable socio-economic development in the ethnic minority and mountainous regions; the material and spiritual life of the people has been constantly improved.

These are positive changes in the application of science and technology in the field of cooperatives and ethnic minorities, but to determine "breakthrough and development" as required by Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW, there are still many issues to be implemented. Therefore, he hopes that this conference will be a positive start, creating new momentum for scientific and technological research, innovation and digital transformation activities for cooperatives and members of ethnic minorities and mountainous areas to truly make a breakthrough in productivity, quality, efficiency and sustainable development; at the same time, he hopes to continue to receive many valuable contributions to the development orientation in the coming time.

At the conference, delegates representing departments, sectors, economic and technological experts, businesses, managers and cooperatives discussed and contributed many valuable ideas on awareness, practical solutions, highly applicable in technical infrastructure, resources, etc. to help cooperatives overcome difficulties and seize opportunities for development. At the same time, the opinions, analyses and proposals at the conference are an important source of reference information, supporting state management agencies in perfecting the institutional framework, promoting cooperatives to apply digital platforms to all activities, thereby contributing to the national digital transformation process.
