Promoting electricity and energy development projects in Nghe An

On August 26, 2025, the People's Committee of Nghe An province issued Document No. 8855/UBND-CN requesting provincial departments, branches, agencies, units, People's Committees of communes and wards to focus on promoting electricity and energy development projects in the province.

Accordingly, in Official Dispatch No. 8855/UBND-CN on promoting the development of electricity and energy projects in the province according to the approved planning, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Phung Thanh Vinh assigned the Department of Industry and Trade to preside over and coordinate with relevant agencies to organize the implementation according to the requirements in Official Dispatch No. 6347/BCT-VNL dated August 22, 2025 of the Ministry of Industry and Trade , ensuring timeliness and compliance with regulations; periodically before the 20th of each month (or suddenly), advise the Provincial People's Committee to report to the Ministry of Industry and Trade on the situation and progress of implementation.

The Department of Finance shall preside over and coordinate with the Department of Industry and Trade and relevant agencies to organize the implementation of consulting procedures on investment policy approval, bidding, and selection of investors for power projects under the authority of the Provincial People's Committee, especially for the Quynh Lap LNG Thermal Power Plant Project; promptly and seriously report on the roadmap and specific implementation procedures for consulting on the selection of investors for power source projects according to the direction of the Provincial People's Committee in Official Dispatch No. 5822/UBND-CN dated June 20, 2025.

Assign agencies, units and localities to proactively research, focus on implementation and promptly coordinate with the Department of Industry and Trade to deploy related contents and tasks.

Previously, in Official Dispatch No. 6347/BCT-VNL dated August 22, 2025, the Ministry of Industry and Trade requested the Standing Committees of Provincial Party Committees, City Party Committees, and People's Committees of provinces and centrally-run cities to continue to pay attention to, strengthen direction, dissemination, and urge local authorities and related project investors to closely follow the set goals, directions, and tasks to promptly organize effective and timely implementation.

In particular, focus on speeding up the implementation of procedures for selecting investors for energy, electricity, infrastructure for storing and supplying gasoline and oil projects under the management authority according to the provisions of the law on investment, especially key, important, and priority investment projects that have been planned.

Prioritize land allocation for the development of energy, electricity, infrastructure for storage, and supply of gasoline and oil in accordance with the provisions of the law on land. Take the lead in closely coordinating with investors to carry out site clearance, compensation, relocation, and resettlement for projects in accordance with regulations.

Regularly monitor, supervise, inspect and urge the implementation of national sector planning plans in the fields of energy, electricity, infrastructure, reserves and supply of gasoline and oil, ensuring the completion of set goals.
