Outstanding among the publications introduced to readers on this occasion is the book “Uncle Ho writes the Declaration of Independence” - a publication carefully compiled by author Kieu Mai Son with many valuable documents contributing to the study of the political text of the Declaration of Independence by President Ho Chi Minh, helping readers understand more deeply about an important historical moment of the Vietnamese nation.

On the same topic of President Ho Chi Minh, there are also books that help readers learn about his journey to find a way to save the country such as "Ho Chi Minh - A man and a nation", "Following his footsteps"...

In addition, the book “History of our country” with color illustrations is introduced to readers for the first time by Kim Dong Publishing House. This is a book written by Uncle Ho in the form of six-eight verse, recreating the history of Vietnam from the time of King Hung to 1941 - when he wrote this book of poems. The book of poems has two very famous first verses: at the beginning “Our people must know our history / To understand the origin of our country Vietnam”, which is remembered and passed down by all generations.

“Portraits of 15 Ministers of the Provisional Government of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (August 1945)” is a rare publication that introduces complete portraits of 15 members of the cabinet of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam in its early stages.

With the view that people create the liveliness of historical details, in this book, author Kieu Mai Son has portrayed the portraits of 15 Ministers of that first period.

They were President Ho Chi Minh - concurrently Minister of Foreign Affairs ; Vo Nguyen Giap - Minister of the Interior; Tran Huy Lieu - Minister of Information and Propaganda; Nguyen Van To - Minister of Social Relief; Vu Dinh Hoe - Minister of National Education; Pham Ngoc Thach - Minister of Health; Pham Van Dong - Minister of Finance...

In the series of publications commemorating the nation's important events, Kim Dong Publishing House also introduces to readers books about portraits of leaders and revolutionary predecessors such as: "The Mechanic Ton Duc Thang", "Tran Phu", "Ngo Gia Tu", "Nguyen Duc Canh", "Nguyen Thi Minh Khai - Betel Garden Song", "Nguyen Huu Tien - the person who painted the national flag", "To Hieu Peach Tree"... These memoirs not only help readers understand more about the portraits and lives of pioneering revolutionary leaders, but also about the historical, family, and social context that shaped the nation's outstanding children.

“Living in the Heart of Resistance” is a special diary of writer Nguyen Huy Tuong, truthfully recording the difficult but idealistic years of the resistance war against the French (1946–1954). The book is a mirror reflecting the soul of a writer representing a generation of patriotic artists, full of worries, living in the midst of the nation's boiling era.

After 20 years since its introduction to readers, the publication “Forever Twenty” – the diary pages of martyr Nguyen Van Thac that touched millions of readers’ hearts is respectfully introduced by Kim Dong Publishing House on this special anniversary. This is also one of the first publications in the Youth Bookcase of Kim Dong Publishing House.

On this occasion, many publications were reprinted to help readers learn about the nation's history and the two long resistance wars such as "A Brief History of Vietnam in Pictures", "A Thousand-Year Country", "Vietnam Propaganda Liberation Army", "General Vo Nguyen Giap in His Youth", "Resistance Literature and Arts through the Lens of Tran Van Luu", "Children in Wartime"...

Ms. Vu Thi Quynh Lien, Deputy Director and Editor-in-Chief of Kim Dong Publishing House shared: “With the publications selected to be launched and introduced to readers on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of National Day - a great event of the Vietnamese nation, Kim Dong Publishing House wishes to remind young readers of the heroic history of the nation, to pay tribute to the great contributions of President Ho Chi Minh and previous generations who devoted their lives to the revolution and to the country of Vietnam; to arouse national pride in the hearts of the young generation, so that each young Vietnamese person can be more confident and steady on the journey of building the country on the threshold of a new era of the nation.”

On this occasion, Kim Dong Publishing House also organized a seminar on “Uncle Ho - A model of lifelong learning” at 2:00 p.m. on August 28 at the Central Stage of the Publishing Industry’s Achievements Exhibition, Building A - Vietnam Exhibition Center (Dong Anh Commune, Hanoi City). The program was moderated by MC, Dr. Kim Nguyen Bao.
