Quang Tri: Determined to complete the elimination of 100% of temporary and dilapidated houses

Today, July 9, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired the 6th meeting of the Central Steering Committee for the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide to hear a report on the progress of the program. Minister of Ethnic Minorities and Religions Dao Ngoc Dung attended the meeting.

Attending the meeting at the Quang Tri province bridge were Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Phong and leaders of relevant departments and branches.

By the end of July 8, 2025, 18/34 localities nationwide had completed the goal of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses for all three groups of subjects.

After the fifth meeting of the Steering Committee, 7 more localities have completed the goal of completely eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses.

From now until August 31, 2025, the whole country needs to continue to eliminate 25,232 temporary and dilapidated houses, of which 18,799 are under construction and 6,433 have not yet started construction.

In recent times, Quang Tri province has focused on leading and directing the implementation of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in the area, mobilizing the participation of the entire political system, organizations and individuals.

The province also promptly deployed flexible and effective measures to mobilize resources to support the joint effort to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, ensuring publicity, transparency and compliance with regulations.

At the meeting, Chairman of Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee Tran Phong also proposed and requested the Government to support more resources to speed up the implementation of the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses.

At the same time, affirm the determination and efforts to strive to complete the goal of eliminating 100% of temporary and dilapidated houses in the province according to the set schedule.

Concluding the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses is a great and humane policy of the Party and State, affirming "national love and compatriotism", demonstrating the responsibility, love and sharing of the whole community.

The Prime Minister requested that before July 27, 2025, localities must mobilize resources and human resources to complete housing support for relatives of martyrs and people with revolutionary contributions. Along with that, localities focus on completing the goal of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses before August 31, 2025.
