Joining the battle at the Citadel front when he was just 19 years old, Mr. Thuyen is now a 2/4 class disabled soldier. “After nearly 2 months of fighting, I was injured and transferred to the rear for treatment. Perhaps, that was also a lucky thing for me, because many comrades never returned…”, Mr. Thuyen sadly shared.

The memories of the fierce and tragic Citadel battlefield were recreated through documentary images displayed at the exhibition space, making many war veterans unable to hold back their tears. War veteran Phan Van Hung (born in 1954), from Phu Tho, burst into tears while talking to the tour guide at the exhibition booth of historical artifacts and documents. "On the Citadel battlefield, many comrades sacrificed... I am still alive and can return as a privilege. Therefore, every year I visit the old battlefield, visit my comrades, witness the daily changes of my homeland Quang Tri..." - Mr. Hung stopped, tears welled up, rolling down the cheeks of a soldier who had faced the rain of bombs and bullets of the enemy.
