Overcoming difficulties
Nhat Que was born in 2002, is a Nung ethnic, born and raised in Xuan Duong commune, Thai Nguyen province. His family was poor, and only escaped poverty at the end of 2023. Since childhood, Que has had the awareness and spirit to overcome difficulties.
With outstanding height and good physique, Nhat Que has shown his talent and love for sports since he was still in school. In 2015, Nhat Que registered for the Archery course at the Provincial Sports Training and Competition Center.
I remember: When I took the hand test, I failed the requirements and was eliminated from the Archery team. I cried a lot. Luckily, after a teacher introduced me, I was able to go to the Thai Nguyen Province Sports Training and Competition Center and started practicing Athletics. Despite my best efforts, I did not achieve any significant results for 5 consecutive years. I felt that I had failed, not just a few times but many times. Losing confidence in myself, I decided to stop and find a job that was suitable for me, to help my family financially ...

Amidst the ups and downs of adolescence and psychological obstacles, Nhat Que received encouragement and motivation from her family, teachers and friends. Que smiled gently: I talked with Ms. Nguyen Thi Hang (Coach of the Thai Nguyen Wrestling and Jujitsu team) for a long time. She asked me if I really wanted to give up sports? If I switched to Jujitsu Wrestling, would I be determined to start over?... I feel very lucky, because I always have people by my side, leading me through difficulties and giving me new opportunities.
"When the Vietnamese national anthem played, I was so happy I cried."
After 5 years, Nhat Que once again came to sports with great determination, but instead of excitement, there were worries and confusion because he started later than other athletes.
According to Nhat Que, Jujitsu is a sport that requires the body to be skillful and flexible. When practicing and competing, one must be flexible, quick-witted, highly focused and always maintain a steady mentality. Overcoming her self-consciousness and confusion, the young girl learned about and diligently practiced the new sport.
In addition to her regular time, Que also asks her brothers and sisters for support to practice more every afternoon. Along with that, she seriously exercises to have the best health.

Sharing more about this special mission, Nhat Que was moved: We started practicing from the beginning of August, the weather was sunny, rainy and erratic, and standing for many hours could not help but be tired. But above all, we felt so lucky and honored to be able to contribute a little bit to this special event. Many times, seeing the national flag flying, I was moved to tears remembering the first time I stood on the podium to receive a medal, next to the athletes of other countries, I cried when I heard the Vietnamese National Anthem. So happy and proud.
