Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Gia Nghia Ward presents solidarity houses to poor families to "settle down and make a living"

Phai Kol Pru Dang residential group, Dong Gia Nghia ward has a large population of ethnic minorities. Accompanying and sharing with poor households, the group has integrated the emulation movement "The whole country joins hands for the poor - leaving no one behind" with the campaigns "The whole people unite to build new rural areas, civilized urban areas", "Join hands to build new rural areas, civilized urban areas"...

The team of residential group cadres also regularly encourages people to change their thinking and working methods, boldly applying science and technology to production. Thanks to that, from 2020 to now, the residential group has reduced the number of poor households and near-poor households by 4. Ms. H'Thanh Ken - Head of Phai Kol Pru Dang residential group shared: "Through propaganda and mobilization, people have gradually changed their thinking, actively developing their household economy . Many households now have an income of hundreds of millions of VND, built solid houses, and purchased modern machinery for production."

The emulation movement "The whole country joins hands for the poor - leaving no one behind" in Nghia Hoa residential group, Dong Gia Nghia ward has left its mark with many creative ways. The group maintains and effectively promotes many models to help the poor such as: Savings credit groups, capital contribution groups; "5 in 1"; "3 in 1", "19 women help 11 women"; "Women help each other develop the economy", "Comrades Fund", "Veterans help each other reduce poverty and do good business", coffee production, beekeeping for honey... Over the past 5 years, the group has mobilized the construction of 7 houses worth 400 million VND, drilled clean water wells worth 50 million VND, installed 20 solar bulbs to light up residential streets. In particular, thanks to the application of science and technology, many households have risen out of poverty, increased their income from coffee production, livestock, beekeeping for honey...

Over the past 5 years, the whole ward has had 1,197 households receiving loans for economic development, with a total outstanding debt of over 115 billion VND; supporting the construction and repair of 45 houses; at the same time, effectively implementing national target programs. Social security work has always been of concern. Social assistance policies and regimes have been implemented promptly and to the right subjects.

According to Mr. Thach Canh Tinh - Chairman of Dong Gia Nghia Ward People's Committee, implementing the patriotic emulation movement, especially "The whole country joins hands for the poor - leaving no one behind", the ward has deployed many practical and effective ways. Identifying sustainable poverty reduction as a socio-economic task and a political responsibility, Dong Gia Nghia Ward has mobilized the entire political system to participate, combining state resources, the community and the efforts of the people themselves.

Propaganda work, building awareness of self-improvement for poor households, avoiding the mentality of relying on and waiting for support from the state is carried out regularly and continuously. "We determine that all support is just a support, the important thing is to arouse the awareness of self-improvement to escape poverty for the people. From there, all levels, sectors and units have stepped up propaganda for union members, association members and people according to the motto "slow and steady wins the race", said Mr. Thach Canh Tinh.

With those efforts, up to now, Dong Gia Nghia ward has only 35 poor households and 96 near-poor households. Infrastructure has been gradually improved, the urban appearance is increasingly improved. The emulation movement "The whole country joins hands for the poor - leaving no one behind" has brought about practical results and contributed to strengthening the great national solidarity, creating motivation for people to have more confidence and determination to rise out of poverty, build a prosperous and happy life.

This is also a solid premise for the ward to continue to improve the effectiveness of this emulation movement as well as contribute to realizing the goal of building a civilized and modern Dong Gia Nghia ward, towards sustainable urban development in the spirit of the Resolution of the 1st Ward Party Congress.
