Promoting the spirit of August Revolution in the new era of the nation

These days, streets and residential areas in localities in Lam Dong province are decorated with flags and flowers to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2. As a brilliant milestone in the history of the nation, the August Revolution succeeded, the first democratic state of workers and peasants in Southeast Asia was established, opening a new era, the era of national independence associated with socialism. From here, our people escaped the shackles of slavery of colonialism and feudalism, becoming masters of the country and their own destiny.

The victory of the August Revolution was the victory of patriotism and the strength of great national unity under the correct and talented leadership of the Party and the great President Ho Chi Minh .

Land rich in revolutionary tradition

Lam Dong province is a land rich in revolutionary history, one of the cultural cradles of the Central and Central Highlands regions with many valuable heritages. In particular, there is Duc Thanh School, where the patriotic young man Nguyen Tat Thanh - the great President Ho Chi Minh taught, passed on and fostered the spirit of patriotism and love for the people for his students before going abroad to find a way to save the country. In the end, in many localities across the country, during the historic and exciting August days, the Provisional Viet Minh Mobilization Committee of Lam Dong province advocated mobilizing the masses to rise up and demonstrate to show their power, using political violence to force the puppet government to unconditionally hand over power.

After the Democratic Front period, the enemy terrorized fiercely, many party members who were leaders of the movement were imprisoned, and the communication line with the Central Region Party Committee was cut off. Lacking the Party's leadership, from 1941 to early 1945, the revolutionary movement in Lam Dong temporarily subsided. In April 1945, party members imprisoned from Ly Hy concentration camp (Thua Thien) and Buon Ma Thuot prison returned, and the revolutionary movement in Lam Dong continued to be vibrant. Implementing the "General Uprising Order" of the National Uprising Committee (approved on August 16, 1945 at the National Congress held in Tan Trao) and the letter calling on the people of the whole country to revolt by President Ho Chi Minh, the provisional Viet Minh Mobilization Committee of the province launched an uprising to seize power. On August 25, 1945, tens of thousands of people from all regions of the province marched to show their strength and participated in a rally to celebrate the victory. After the rally, the masses marched through the streets and intersections, making the revolutionary momentum even stronger.

Since the Party was founded, the army and people of Lam Dong province have wholeheartedly followed the Party, united and fought bravely throughout the two long resistance wars against the French colonialists and the invading American imperialists. Regardless of the circumstances, even during the most difficult times of the revolution, the army and people of Lam Dong province have always been loyal, steadfast, and firmly believed in the leadership of the Party. Since then, with the tradition of "self-reliance, heroic fighting, glorious victory", overcoming countless challenges and difficulties, the army and people of the province have achieved many glorious feats.

In particular, during the resistance war against the US to save the country, the Party Committee and the people of Lam Dong province steadfastly held on, mobilized the people to carry out political struggles, carry out military and enemy agitation work and promote armed struggles. Inheriting the revolutionary tradition, during the 20 years of fighting against the US, the great victory of the army and people of Lam Dong province was to turn the enemy's rear into our rear. Cadres held on, the people dug secret tunnels to hide cadres and soldiers, stockpiled weapons and food, cared for wounded soldiers, provided manpower and resources for the resistance... and contributed significantly to the victory of the Great Spring Victory in 1975, completely liberating the South and reunifying the country.

Growing into the new era

After the country was reunified and peace was restored, the Party Committee, government, army and people of Lam Dong province focused on overcoming the consequences of war, stabilizing life, and implementing the Party's Renovation policy with unceasing efforts, strong creativity and steps appropriate to the characteristics, specific conditions and practical situation of the locality.

In particular, in recent years, the appearance of urban and rural areas, ethnic minority areas has improved a lot, many modern and spacious residential areas have opened up in both urban and rural areas. Tourist areas, infrastructure systems serving the health, education, culture, sports, entertainment, production and business facilities of economic sectors, infrastructure systems have been invested in more and more and are modern. The regions in the province are increasingly adding new colors and all have contributed to making the appearance of the province more and more spacious. Irrigation works bring high efficiency...

In addition, the New Rural Development program has been actively implemented and achieved results. Ethnic minority areas in the province have seen clear changes in all fields.

The Party building work has achieved quite comprehensive and in-depth results, the political system has increasingly improved its effectiveness and efficiency, the people's trust in the Party and the State has been increasingly consolidated, the national solidarity bloc has been strengthened, democracy and discipline have been better promoted, patriotic emulation movements have been maintained regularly, many dynamic and creative typical examples and models have appeared... contributing to creating an important premise to promote the province's situation in all aspects to develop more rapidly in the coming time.

Especially in recent years, the infrastructure in the province has been gradually improved, connecting traffic routes have been put into use, creating positive effects, contributing to attracting domestic and foreign investors and tourists to Lam Dong, creating momentum for socio-economic development for the province.

In the current period, the Party Committee, the Government and the People of Lam Dong province continue to promote revolutionary heroism, solidarity, unanimity, joint efforts and hearts, both striving to heal the wounds of war and overcoming difficulties, striving to move forward. From there, we will have a deeper understanding of the values ​​and lessons learned from the practical struggles of the nation to add strength, will and determination to successfully carry out tasks, contributing to the cause of building and firmly defending the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
