According to information from the provincial Market Management Department, from October 1 to October 31, the Market Management force discovered 4 vehicles transporting food containing animal organs that did not meet food safety and hygiene standards with a total quantity of 584 kg in Lam Thao and Phu Ninh districts and Viet Tri city.

Authorities supervised the destruction of 209kg of animal viscera that did not meet food safety standards, discovered by Mr. Tran Thai Tho, Thanh Mieu Ward, Viet Tri City, as driver and owner on October 24.

In order to strengthen inspection and control of business activities and transportation of food of unknown origin and origin, not ensuring food safety and hygiene in the whole province, the Market Management force coordinated with the Traffic Police Department - Provincial Police, the Provincial Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine to inspect and detect 4 vehicles driven by Mr. Phan Thanh Tuan, Viet Xuan commune, Vinh Tuong district, Vinh Phuc province; Nguyen Manh Hung, Phuong Khoan commune, Song Lo district, Vinh Phuc province; Le Tien Quang, Tien Cat ward, Viet Tri city; Tran Thai Tho, Thanh Mieu ward, Viet Tri city, transporting 120kg, 140kg, 115kg and 209kg of food on the way to consumption, respectively.

Through inspection, the food items were frozen animal organs of buffalo, cow, and pig, had a foul odor, changed color, and were watery, causing harm to human health. At the time of inspection, the drivers and owners of the goods could not present documents proving the origin of the above goods and admitted that the above animal organs were purchased and collected on the market, then sold to stores and restaurants in need.

Market Management Team No. 2 and No. 8 have drawn up a record and issued 4 Decisions on administrative sanctions for the violation: Transporting animal products that do not meet veterinary hygiene and food safety requirements for business. Each vehicle was fined 10,000,000 VND. The total amount of administrative sanctions is 40,000,000 VND; at the same time, coordinating with competent authorities to monitor and force the destruction of all animal organs above.
