Mr. Trump 'dominates the airwaves', wants to lift the championship trophy with Chelsea

US President Donald Trump had an interesting "showstopping" performance during Chelsea's historic coronation ceremony at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.

President Donald Trump surprised everyone when he unexpectedly interrupted Chelsea's trophy celebrations after their shock 3-0 win over PSG in the 2025 FiFA Club World Cup final in the early hours of July 14.

Mr. Trump was there early to watch the entire final match with FIFA President Gianni Infantino. He then went down to the field to present the trophy to the champion.

Tellingly, however, instead of leaving with Mr Infantino after presenting the trophy, Mr Trump remained in place and took centre stage as James lifted the trophy.

This left his teammates with no choice but to celebrate around the president.

It was a strange decision from the leader of the United States, going against the usual practice of letting the team enjoy their moment. Instead, he chose to be the center of attention.

According to The Independent , Chelsea players largely appeared unaffected by Mr Trump's involvement, but a few appeared confused, including James and Palmer, who looked bewildered.

“It’s a great tournament, Gianni is my friend. It’s great to watch. FIFA has done a great job, it’s a growing sport , a great sport,” Trump told DAZN.

The Blues shocked European champions PSG with an incredible 3-0 win. Cole Palmer was the star of the show, scoring twice and assisting new signing Joao Pedro for the other goal.

Coach Enzo Maresca's team made history as the first team to win the new version of the FIFA Club World Cup.
