At the conference, delegates heard a report on the activities of the Association for Promotion of Education in the first 6 months of 2025 and deployed directions and tasks for the last 6 months of the year.
In the first 6 months of the year, the Association for Promotion of Learning at all levels in the province has strived to successfully complete the tasks of promoting learning, promoting talents, and building a learning society; implementing the requirements and tasks set forth by the Central Association and the Provincial Association; continuing to implement the contents of the Government 's Programs 387 and 677, and the software for evaluating and recognizing the title of "Learning Citizen" for the period 2021-2030 according to new criteria.
The Provincial Association organized the seminar "Encouraging Green Learning" to implement Decision 1658/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister, thoroughly grasp Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation, creativity and national digital transformation in the content of the seminar; emphasizing "eliminating digital illiteracy" in the current situation.
The province currently has 616,225 members/1,167,400 people, reaching 52.8%, an increase of 4,473 members over the same period. 100% of communes, wards and towns have learning promotion associations; the whole area has 1,176 branches and 7,822 learning promotion boards. More than 96% of party members participate in learning promotion associations with more than 29,000 party members. 41% of members at all levels of the association participate in paying membership fees; the total amount of membership fees collected in the first 6 months of 2025 is over 2.4 billion VND; 89.3% of members are issued cards.
Local Associations at all levels continue to implement learning models from previous years. Activities to encourage learning and talent to build a learning society have received attention from leaders at all levels, creating conditions for the Association to do well in its task of building learning models in the locality. The registration of learning families reached 93.9%; learning clans reached 99.6%; learning communities reached 100%; learning units reached 100%.
Implementing the movement "The whole country competes to build a learning society, promote lifelong learning in the period of 2023-2030" and the results of the emulation campaign "Each person self-study, lifelong learning, meeting the requirements of sustainable development in the digital transformation period", every year, the Provincial and local Associations for Promoting Education vote for typical examples of lifelong learning, "Learning never ends" to honor and reward on the occasion of Uncle Ho's birthday, May 19.
In the first 6 months of 2025, the province awarded 331 "Learning Never Ends" scholarships, worth a total of 713 million VND. Since the beginning of the year, the Association at all levels has awarded 22,700 scholarships to encourage learning and talent with a total amount of over 8.3 billion VND. The total fund for encouraging learning in the province is currently over 48.7 billion VND, an average of 41,776 VND/person.
At the conference, delegates also heard a report on the results of the meeting to unify the content of the preparation for the merger between the Long An Association for the Promotion of Education and the Tay Ninh Association for the Promotion of Education. In particular, it was agreed to honor Mr. Le Minh Trong - Chairman of the Tay Ninh Association for the Promotion of Education as the new Chairman of the Tay Ninh Provincial Association for the Promotion of Education.
The Executive Committee of the Provincial Association for Promotion of Education also announced the end of the activities of the Association for Promotion of Education at the district, town and city levels and the acceptance of the Association for Promotion of Education of new communes and wards as members from July 1, 2025.
