Female doctor, victim of mini apartment fire on Khuong Ha street, is gradually getting out of critical condition

Before the incident, due to limited resources, the female doctor’s family members lived together in a 45 ^m2 apartment in a mini-apartment building. Not only did she have to take care of her family and children, she also had a younger sister with kidney failure and poor health.

When the fire broke out, the female doctor stayed with her sister, trying to save her, because she could not escape on her own. At that time, her two children were being cared for in the countryside.

When admitted to Bach Mai Hospital for emergency treatment, Dr. N. was in a coma, in shock, and suffering from multiple organ failure. As one of the most severe cases of CO poisoning caused by the fire, the female doctor was a patient at the Intensive Care Center (Bach Mai Hospital) and had to be put on a ventilator.

Like other victims, the resident doctor was given the best treatment by doctors at Bach Mai Hospital. Currently, the health of Dr. N.'s family members is improving. The patient's husband is stable, and her sister is also stable.

As of this morning, patient N. is awake, has had his endotracheal tube removed, and is assessed to have a chance of recovery.

"She has begun to recognize us, gently raising her hand as a greeting to us," a doctor announced with hopes for even better things to come for her female colleague.

However, the treating doctors also said that while the patient does not currently need a ventilator, he still needs dialysis and special monitoring and care.

Bach Mai Hospital's Trade Union, with the spirit of mutual love and support, has provided support to help Dr. N. and his family overcome the incident.

According to Bach Mai Hospital, as of this morning, the hospital is treating 26 patients (an increase of 1 case compared to the previous day, a patient transferred from another hospital). All patients who are victims of the fire will be scanned and have their health assessed, especially those with CO poisoning, because this gas poisoning can easily cause brain damage.

Previously, on the evening of September 12, a mini apartment building located deep in alley 29/70 Khuong Ha caught fire, killing 56 people and injuring 37 others. Notably, although it was granted a 6-storey construction permit, this mini apartment building was later invested in and built into 9 floors by Mr. Nghiem Quang Minh (44 years old, residing in Yen Hoa Ward, Cau Giay District, Hanoi ).

After the incident, Hanoi City Police issued a decision to prosecute the case, prosecute the accused and temporarily detain Mr. Minh for the crime of "violating regulations on fire prevention and fighting".
