Nio ES8 - China's "super big" electric SUV, what's special?

Electric carmaker Nio has just released a series of official interior images of the largest pure electric SUV ES8 2025 currently available in China – the car will go on sale on August 21.

Nio has just released a series of official interior images of the all-new ES8 pure electric SUV – ahead of its August 21 launch date. This is considered the largest electric SUV currently available in China.

The new Nio ES8 boasts outstanding dimensions: 5,280 mm long, 2,010 mm wide, 1,800 mm high, with a wheelbase of 3,130 mm. The 6-seat configuration is optimized to provide comfortable space for all three rows of seats – making this the model with the most spacious interior in Nio's history.

The highlight of this announcement is the cabin with many interior color schemes, in which the most prominent is the all-red tone that extends from the cockpit to the rear trunk. Every detail is meticulously finished, from the 52m² of premium soft-touch materials, aviation-style switches to the satin-brushed aluminum trim.

Notably, the door panels integrate the "Cosmic Orbit" metal speaker grilles, which house the all-new audio and entertainment system. The car seats are embroidered with more than 120,000 stitches, showing the level of investment in craftsmanship and interior aesthetics of this flagship SUV.

The car's exterior has been tweaked in a more aggressive direction, with sharp headlights, lower air vents and a clearly defined grille.

Nio ES8 2024 is equipped with 3 LiDAR sensors (1 on the roof, 2 on the front of the car), 4D radar, and a series of cameras and advanced driving support sensors equivalent to the high-end sedan ET9.

In terms of operation, the Nio ES8 still uses a dual electric motor system, for a total capacity of 697 horsepower. The car uses CATL's ternary lithium-ion battery, supporting super-fast charging technology with a 900V architecture, allowing for an additional 250 km of charging in just 5 minutes or a full battery change in just 3 minutes.

The car's maximum charging capacity reaches 600 kW, with a current of up to 765A - among the fastest in the current electric SUV segment. There is currently no official information about the all-new Nio ES8 electric SUV in China.
