DIGITAL PAYMENTS TO MARKETS, SCHOOLS
When coming to My Ngai market, Cao Lanh ward during the campaign, it is easy to see the image of young people in green shirts volunteering to guide traders and customers to use their phones to scan QR codes for payment. There is no longer the familiar scene of paying and receiving cash, instead all transactions take place quickly on the phone.
Youth Union members and volunteers guide people to integrate health insurance cards into VNeID and access online public services. |
This is part of the “Market 4.0” model - an initiative in the “Digital Literacy for All” movement deployed by Dong Thap Provincial Youth Union in many localities. The goal is to help small traders, business households and people access cashless payment methods; at the same time, create conditions for public services and e-commerce to be closer to the community, especially in rural and border areas.
According to the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee, during the peak day of "Digital Education for All", the whole province had more than 3,500 Youth Union members in 155 teams participating, supporting over 24,000 people to access digital technology . Not only stopping at installing payment applications, volunteers also guided the integration of health insurance cards into VNeID, accessing online public services and participating in e-commerce platforms.
If “Market 4.0” creates changes in residential areas, the “Cashless Canteen” model contributes to changing habits in schools. The model is deployed in a number of high schools, colleges and universities in the province, with a simple but effective method, students only need to scan the code to buy food and drinks. This method helps limit the use of cash, training students in spending management skills; especially in the context of digital transformation, this is a necessary preparation step for the younger generation to access modern payment methods.
CONNECTING COMMUNITY, SPREADING LOVE
Not everyone has easy access to public services, especially the elderly and the lonely in remote areas. Understanding that, Lap Vo Commune Union has implemented the “Green Welfare” model, focusing on supporting the elderly to complete procedures to enjoy social pension policies.
Youth Union members and volunteers went to people's homes (Cao Lanh ward) to guide them in submitting their applications and hand over certificates confirming their level of disability. |
The team of 16 members went directly to Binh Hiep A and Binh Hiep B hamlets to guide declaration, consult on procedures, receive documents and hand them over to the authorities. In a short time, more than 120 sets of documents were completed, helping people save travel time and reduce difficulties in accessing public services. In addition, the model also combines environmental protection propaganda and tree planting around residential areas, in line with the meaning of "Green Welfare".
During the recent 2025 High School Graduation Exam, many candidates in Dong Thap received timely support from the “Computers in Hand” model. Just a few minutes before the exam, volunteers can provide standard calculators to candidates if their calculators are broken or they forget to bring them.
The model's approach is very proactive: Before the exam, the teams contact teachers, make a backup list, mobilize computers from students, parents, and alumni; arrange volunteers to be on duty at the exam site to quickly deliver and receive computers.
After the exam, the machine is collected, cleaned and handed over to the team for continued support. The model not only solves emergency situations, but also sends a message of sharing and the spirit of companionship of youth towards the candidates.
In Tan Khanh Trung commune, the summer activities of students are linked to community service through the model "Red Flamboyant Journey - Small Footprints to Every Lane, Every House". The team consists of 18 Youth Union members and students, directly supporting the reception and return of administrative procedure results at home for the elderly, the sick, and poor households. Since the beginning of the campaign, the team has returned results for 89 administrative records. For many students, this is the first time they have approached administrative - social work, both practicing communication skills and better understanding their civic responsibilities.
The common point of the above models is the proactive grasp of people's needs, choosing the appropriate approach for each locality and participating force. In general, the models are less costly in terms of resources, but all bring clear results: "Market 4.0" and "Cashless Canteen" promote modern payment habits, contributing to digital transformation in daily life; "Green Welfare" brings policies to the people, ensuring the rights of disadvantaged groups; "Computers in Hand" accompanies candidates, ensuring the exam takes place safely and smoothly; "Red Flamboyant Journey - Small Footprints to Every Lane, Every House" connects students' summer activities with community service, practicing life skills...
According to the Standing Committee of Dong Thap Provincial Youth Union, these models will continue to be maintained and expanded in the coming time; at the same time, localities will be encouraged to create new models suitable to actual conditions.
Looking at the unique volunteer models of this year's Campaign, it can be seen that the volunteer spirit of Dong Thap youth has gone beyond the framework of the days of bustling campaigning, but rather is persistent activities in each specific job.
That is the way that Youth Union unites the community, spreads love and affirms its role in the new period - a period where every small action can bring about big changes to society.
