Ninh Phuoc focuses on 2023 crop production

To ensure the 2023 crop production plan, farmers in Ninh Phuoc district are currently focusing on plowing and sowing to ensure the correct crop schedule.

In the fields of Phuoc Hau, Phuoc Thai, Phuoc Huu communes,... these days, farmers are rushing to plow the land to sow the summer-autumn crop. The family of Mr. Van Huu Tri, Hieu Le village, Phuoc Hau commune is urgently plowing 2.5 sao of rice fields to sow in time. Mr. Tri said: In the last summer-autumn crop, thanks to sowing according to the crop schedule and applying the model of "1 must, 5 reductions", the family's 2.5 sao of rice yielded high yields, reaching over 7 quintals/sao. Entering the summer-autumn crop, when the commune implemented the production plan, the family focused on plowing the land to sow in time.

This year's crop, based on the actual situation and water levels in the local dams, Ninh Phuoc district plans to produce 6,341.4 hectares; of which, rice is 2,677 hectares, corn is 775.9 hectares, vegetables of all kinds are 1,225 hectares, grass is 433 hectares, perennial crops (mainly grapes, apples) are 1,155 hectares. Continue to maintain and expand the large-scale field model of rice, corn, green asparagus production with 15 fields. Mr. Dang Nang Tom, Head of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Ninh Phuoc district, said: To ensure the crop production is on schedule, the district directs localities to mobilize farmers to focus on plowing the land, sowing according to the crop schedule; recommending people to choose certified rice varieties, short-term varieties, resistant to pests and diseases, suitable for each region and each type of soil. At the same time, promote propaganda and mobilize people to apply effective production models to improve crop quality and productivity. Rice sowing time is from September 10 to October 5. Particularly for production areas using water from Bau Zon and Lanh Ra lake irrigation systems, the sowing time is from August 30 to September 20.

To produce effective crops, Ninh Phuoc district directed the Department of Agriculture to coordinate with the Irrigation Station, the District Plant Cultivation and Plant Protection Station, and localities to properly regulate water for each region and each field; to properly forecast the situation of pests and diseases on crops right from the beginning of the season and notify farmers so that they can effectively control them. At the same time, farmers are encouraged to promote the application of scientific and technical advances, the model of "1 must, 5 reductions" in rice production; to use fertilizers in a balanced, reasonable and effective manner; to apply pest and disease prevention measures; to manage water in the fields according to each growth stage of the crop.

With timely guidance solutions and proactive farmers, the 2023 crop production in Ninh Phuoc district will continue to achieve high results.
