Key projects

Among the projects that will start construction on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2, Gia Binh International Airport and the route connecting the airport with Hanoi Capital are key projects. With a scale of nearly 1,960 hectares, reaching level 4E, the airport is capable of receiving the most modern aircraft, with a designed capacity of 30 million passengers/year by 2030; 1.6 million tons of cargo/year and increasing to 50 million passengers/year; 2.5 million tons of cargo/year by 2050. The route connecting Gia Binh Airport with Hanoi Capital is more than 45 km long, with a cross-section of 120 m, ensuring synchronous connectivity, contributing to making Bac Ninh a strategic aviation, trade and service transit point.

Along with the Gia Binh International Airport project and the connecting route to Hanoi, Bac Ninh province coordinated to inaugurate the second campus of Hanoi Law University (in Dong Nguyen ward), with a scale of nearly 28 hectares and a total investment of nearly 1,800 billion VND. The project is capable of training more than 10,000 students with a synchronous infrastructure system from lecture halls, electronic libraries to dormitories, sports areas, student services...

Implementing the Prime Minister's direction, on August 19, 34 provinces and cities simultaneously started and inaugurated 250 key projects. In particular, in Bac Ninh, the groundbreaking ceremony of Gia Binh International Airport, the inauguration of Hanoi Law University's second campus, and the inauguration of Que Vo Hillview social housing project will take place. In addition, the province will inaugurate the project to build facilities for Bac Giang Specialized High School (Bac Giang ward), and launch the project of the Training and Skills Development Center for students (Vo Cuong ward)...

According to the provincial leaders, the series of key projects that were started and inaugurated on the occasion of the National Day this year is the result of a long, elaborate, persistent and drastic preparation process. In particular, the Gia Binh International Airport project is a clear example. For nearly a year, the entire political system of the province has been highly focused, considering this a "particularly important political task". Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vuong Quoc Tuan has repeatedly emphasized: "Gia Binh International Airport and connecting infrastructure are "green channel" projects, in which site clearance must be given top priority, ensuring publicity, transparency, and creating consensus among the people".

On that basis, the assigned departments, branches and localities have assigned detailed responsibilities to each individual, and updated daily progress reports. Compensation and resettlement support work is carried out publicly and objectively, creating trust and high consensus in the community.

The inauguration of Hanoi Law University Campus 2 is the result of many years of investment promotion. Bac Ninh has proactively planned two university urban areas of over 1,300 hectares, linked to the cultural-ecological corridor, modern traffic infrastructure, ready to welcome universities to invest in expanding their facilities. This is a preparation with a long-term vision, linking educational strategy with industrial, service, and scientific and technological development.

To attract social housing investment projects, Bac Ninh proactively arranged land funds, established a Steering Committee, and organized dialogues with businesses to resolve difficulties. The province implemented the "24-hour green channel" mechanism, cutting 60% of administrative procedure time, ensuring clean land to attract investors. Therefore, Bac Ninh has become one of the leading localities in the country in developing social housing, recognized and highly appreciated by the Government.

Strong spread

The groundbreaking and inauguration of key projects on August 19th is of great significance. Gia Binh International Airport not only opens the door to international integration but also contributes to promoting investment, trade, services, and tourism for the province and the capital region. The addition of urban, industrial, and logistics functions around the airport will accelerate the urbanization process, upgrade communes into wards, and contribute to improving the material and spiritual life of the people.

The second campus of Hanoi Law University has been inaugurated and put into operation; other schools such as Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Hanoi Medical University, Hanoi Foreign Trade University, Hanoi University of Natural Resources and Environment, Hanoi University of Culture and Vietnam Aviation Academy are preparing to invest in new campuses in Bac Ninh, which will contribute to creating a vibrant learning environment and spreading knowledge values in the community. This is a vivid demonstration of the policy of attracting prestigious universities to Bac Ninh, laying the foundation for the formation of a "university city", creating high-quality human resources to serve industry, services, science and technology.

The social housing projects that have been started and inaugurated will directly improve the living conditions of tens of thousands of households, especially workers. In the 2022-2030 period, Bac Ninh has been assigned the target of developing 147,000 apartments, accounting for nearly 15% of the total target nationwide. This is a great honor and responsibility, demonstrating the Government's trust in the locality.

It can be seen that the groundbreaking and inauguration of the projects on this occasion not only practically celebrates the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and National Day September 2, but also opens a new development path for Bac Ninh. This is the result of the meticulous and methodical preparation, determination of the entire political system and the consensus of the people. At the same time, it is also a source of motivation to encourage the spirit of emulation, the aspiration to rise up, and strive to successfully complete the socio-economic development goals of the province in the new period.
