Standing Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Thi Tuyen and Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Manh Quyen attended and pressed the button to open the event.
This is the second time Hanoi has organized this event with the aim of attracting international visitors to the city, while also celebrating the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2024). During the Festival, there will be many cultural and tourism events typical of Hanoi with rich and unique content.
Specifically: Space recreating the image of bustling Hanoi filled with a forest of flags and flowers welcoming the victorious army back; Models of Hanoi Flag Tower, Hang Co Station, Long Bien Bridge are historical evidence of a heroic resistance period of the people of the Capital; Space to promote and introduce tourist destinations; promote the flavor of Hanoi; spaces and experiential activities for people and domestic and international tourists.
During the event, Hanoi City organized a Festival to showcase the skills of artisans and skilled workers and an exhibition to introduce typical craft products of Hanoi. Thereby, honoring the values, traditional and sophisticated handicraft products of Hanoi's craft villages created through the talented, skillful, meticulous hands and unlimited creativity of artisans and skilled workers of the craft villages.
Specifically, products from Thiet Ung woodcraft village, Bat Trang pottery, Ha Thai lacquerware; Van Phuc silk, Ngu Xa bronze casting, Son Dong handicrafts; Phu Vinh rattan and bamboo, Thuong Tin embroidery, Chuong village hats; Chau Khe jewelry, Chang Son fans... were introduced at the event.

The space to introduce Hanoi cuisine takes place at the Children's Palace - Ly Thai To Street with traditional dishes such as: Com Lang Vong, Com Hang Than, Tay Ho lotus tea, Old Quarter coffee... combined with culinary performances. The activity of displaying and introducing Hanoi through photos under the theme "Hanoi Autumn - Historical Autumn" contributes to promoting the beauty, culture and people of the Capital.
In addition, the festival also includes a demonstration of the skills of artisans and skilled workers and an exhibition introducing typical Hanoi craft products held at the Ly Thai To monument area and the Octagonal House area. People and tourists will learn about the typical values of Hanoi craft villages, such as: Giang Cao ceramics (Bat Trang, Gia Lam), Ha Thai lacquerware (Thuong Tin district), Ngu Xa bronze casting (Ba Dinh district), Phu Vinh bamboo and rattan weaving (Chuong My district), Quoc Oai wood carving, Van Phuc silk (Ha Dong district)...

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Director of the Hanoi Center for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Nguyen Anh Duong said that following the success of the Hanoi Autumn Festival 2023, which was honored to receive the 16th "Bui Xuan Phai - For the love of Hanoi" award for the category "Work for the love of Hanoi", the 2nd Hanoi Autumn Festival 2024 is an event with large-scale investment, a tourism product that affirms the brand, promotes the effective exploitation of the potential and strengths of each locality, creating momentum for rapid and sustainable socio-economic development.
“The capital’s tourism is in a period of strong transformation, being an important bridge in regional, regional and international connections. Hopefully, with the experiences at the 2nd Hanoi Autumn Festival in 2024, visitors will have deep impressions of Hanoi - an attractive, safe and friendly tourist destination,” Mr. Nguyen Anh Duong emphasized.
Also at the opening ceremony, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi received support from units and organizations for people in flood-affected areas with a total amount of more than 213 million VND.
