Due to the complicated developments of storm No. 5 Kajiki, many provinces and cities in the North Central region have announced adjustments to the school opening time, delayed by 1-2 days compared to the original plan (August 25) to ensure the safety of students and teachers.

On the afternoon of August 24, the Thanh Hoa Department of Education and Training issued an urgent dispatch requesting schools and educational institutions in the area to temporarily suspend back-to-school activities and focus on implementing storm response plans. The Department of Education and Training emphasized that only when the weather is truly safe will heads of educational institutions be allowed to organize activities to welcome students back to school from August 26.

In Ha Tinh , the Department of Education and Training has asked schools to proactively let students stay home to ensure safety. Accordingly, more than 67,000 students in grades 1, 9 and 12 will be home from school for two days on August 25-26. The return to school will depend on weather developments and further announcements from the industry.

The Quang Tri Department of Education and Training also issued an official dispatch requesting all students in the province to stay home from school from August 25 until the weather stabilizes, in order to minimize risks when storms make landfall and prolonged rain and flooding occur.

In Hue city , the Department of Education and Training decided to adjust the school opening date to August 28, three days later than originally planned. At the same time, schools were asked to closely monitor storm forecasts and proactively deploy response plans according to the "four on-site" principle to ensure absolute safety for students, teachers and facilities. After the storm, schools will organize cleaning of the campus and prepare all conditions to welcome students back.

In Nghe An, the Department of Education and Training allows schools to take the initiative in adjusting the school opening schedule. However, according to records, most schools have agreed to postpone the school opening date, not organizing it on August 25 as previously planned.

Storm No. 5 moves quickly, has a wide circulation and favorable conditions to strengthen, causing strong gusts of wind, heavy rain, violent waves, risks of flooding, flash floods and landslides.
