Many good and creative models in new rural construction in Dakrong district

Identifying the construction of new rural areas (NTM) as a central, regular and long-term political task, in recent years, Dakrong district has mobilized many resources and the participation of the people in carrying out this task. Thanks to that, more and more good, creative and suitable models have appeared in the construction of NTM, contributing to the further development of this mountainous district.

Promoting the role of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio -political organizations in building new rural areas, the campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas" in the district has been widely and effectively implemented. In particular, units have focused on building infrastructure, paying attention to developing family economic life with many forms such as: supporting loans, supporting seeds, guiding, and converting agricultural production structure towards commodities. Mobilizing people to participate in building many new rural construction models.

Typical examples include 2 clean vegetable growing models combined with pig farming in Ba Long commune, 2 deer farming models in Trieu Nguyen commune and many other economic models that bring high income; mobilizing people to practice civilized lifestyles in weddings and funerals; eliminating bad customs; participating in activities to maintain hygiene and protect the environment; planning gardens, ponds, barns and sanitation works; collecting and treating production and domestic waste.

Along with that, building models of self-managed residential areas for security and order, self-managed residential areas for environmental protection, and village road and alley models. Coordinating management and helping families with drug addicts and families with people who have completed their prison sentences, building 22 models: self-managed residential areas for security and order, "Residential areas without crime and social evils", "Crime prevention clubs", "Drug prevention clubs", "Domestic violence prevention clubs", "Self-managed groups for crime and social evil prevention"; 5 models of traffic safety and crime prevention; 13 models of "3 management".

Clearly identifying the role of farmers in building new rural areas, the District Farmers' Association has promoted propaganda to members to raise awareness of the goals, meanings and importance of the new rural construction program. Thanks to that, many member households have actively participated in donating land, contributing labor and money to build rural infrastructure, and renovating houses and gardens.

Farmers' associations at all levels have increased coordination to support farmers in building cooperative economic models, linking production, processing, product consumption and building brands and trademarks such as: peanuts in Ba Long war zone, Mo O watermelon, Ba Long green beans, Dakrong surplus rice, Dakrong charcoal sticky rice, Dakrong brooms, A Bung brocade weaving.

Promote emulation movements: "Farmers compete in production, good business, unite to help each other get rich and reduce poverty sustainably", "Farmers' scientific innovation", "Farmers in the 4.0 era", "Excellent Vietnamese farmers"... contributing to building good production and business models in the locality. The quality and efficiency of the movements are increasingly improved, some households have relatively large production scales, with business capital of hundreds of millions of VND, attracting dozens of workers, bringing high efficiency and income.

In the district, there are models of growing indigenous dwarf bananas and peanuts in a chain that bring high economic efficiency to farmers. To contribute to building the new rural areas, women's unions at all levels in the district have determined to focus on promoting the implementation of the criteria of no hunger and poverty; implementing solutions to support women in economic development, mobilizing members to proactively overcome difficulties and escape poverty sustainably. Notably, up to now, 100% of communes and towns in the district have village loan savings models, with 288 groups/4,812 members, with total annual savings of more than 5 billion VND.

Promoting the pioneering role in socio-economic development, self-reliance and career establishment of young people associated with the movement "Youth join hands to build new rural areas", Dakrong District Youth Union has launched many emulation movements at the grassroots level. Establishing a pioneering team to propagate new rural areas, developing art performances, aiming to "stage" and integrate with the contest to convey the contents of the National Target Program on building new rural areas to all classes of people and residents in remote, isolated and border areas.

Connecting with district-level agencies' youth unions and commune-level youth unions to form volunteer youth teams, mobilizing over 1,800 working days to help policy beneficiaries, poor households, and especially disadvantaged households in the district such as repairing and building houses, livestock barns, and digging holes to treat household waste according to NTM criteria.

Participated in the construction of 13 "Country Road Light" projects, installing lighting systems with a total length of 14 km on the central roads of villages and hamlets in 6 communes: Huong Hiep, Trieu Nguyen, Hai Phuc, Dakrong, Ta Rut, A Bung. Organized environmental sanitation campaigns, beautified traffic routes managed by the youth union in the central areas of communes and rural residential areas, and planted over 30,000 trees to create a green, clean, and beautiful rural environment.

The District Veterans Association also organized propaganda activities on building new rural areas in association with the 3-donation movement of "donating ideas, donating labor, donating land" and "renovating village roads and alleys". Thanks to the participation of the entire political system, organizations and unions, especially the consensus, joint efforts and contributions of the people, the movement to build new rural areas in Dakrong district has achieved encouraging results. Up to now, the whole district has achieved 161 criteria for building new rural areas, an average of 13.4 criteria/commune; Trieu Nguyen commune maintains the new rural standards.

Good and creative models in building new rural areas have contributed to building infrastructure systems for transportation, irrigation, schools, medical stations, cultural houses, etc. to gradually meet production needs and serve people's lives; production has developed in the direction of goods, linking production with processing and consumption markets, etc. Rural landscapes and environments have gradually improved. People's material and spiritual lives have been enhanced, and the appearance of mountainous rural areas has become increasingly prosperous.
