Thanks to the giant, solidly designed pillars that support it, the strangely beautiful pagoda in Tri Ton (An Giang) looks like it is floating high above from afar, standing out among the wild, green mountains and forests.

Located about 44km from the center of Chau Doc city, Ta Pa pagoda (in Nui To commune, Tri Ton district, An Giang province) is a famous spiritual tourist destination in the locality, attracting a large number of visitors every year thanks to its "unique" architecture.

Ta Pa Pagoda was built in 1999 with a total area of nearly 4,000m2. Initially, the pagoda was made of wood and thatched, then underwent 4 renovations and repairs. At the end of 2019, the pagoda had a more spacious appearance and was known to many tourists.

Ta Pa Pagoda has an architecture imbued with Khmer Southern Buddhist culture with a tiled roof with fish-shaped dragons, curved noses, and triangular peaks surrounding a massive tower.

The space in the temple is filled with many paintings, statues, and reliefs of different sizes, with high artistic value.

One of the highlights of Ta Pa Pagoda is the main hall built on the mountainside, supported by 120 solid cement pillars, each 5-18m high.

Thanks to these giant columns, the temple looks like it is floating high in the sky from afar, standing out among the wild, green mountains and forests.

In the main hall area, images related to the life of Buddha and the cultural life of the Khmer community are also depicted in a realistic and vivid way.

Not only possessing unique architecture, Ta Pa Pagoda also impresses visitors with its staircase about 70m long, 15m wide, corresponding to 240 steps leading from the foot of the mountain to the main hall.

Thanks to this interesting design, conquering Ta Pa mountain and the pagoda of the same name for visitors when visiting here becomes more convenient and easier.

Because it is located on high ground, Ta Pa Pagoda also has an expansive view of the unique natural landscape ahead. Standing from the main hall, visitors can look far away and admire the scenery of the fertile Tri Ton land.

Especially in the rice season, visitors coming here cannot help but be fascinated by the beauty of the vast green rice fields that turn golden yellow and heavy with grain. The whole space is filled with the fragrant smell of rice, mixed with the scent of the countryside wind.

Mr. Nguyen Quoc Dat (local photographer) said that Ta Pa Pagoda is open every day and welcomes visitors all year round.

Each season, this place has its own beauty. In the rainy season, the trees are green and the space is cool. In the rice harvest season, the scenery around the pagoda is filled with bright yellow.

Mr. Dat suggested that if you have the opportunity to visit here, in addition to worshiping and sightseeing at the pagoda, visitors can combine checking in at Ta Pa Lake located right next to the pagoda - a place known as "Tuyet Tinh Coc", "lake on the mountain" in An Giang.

Around the lake, there are also a number of restaurants and establishments providing costume rental services, instant photography, etc., to meet the needs of entertainment and experience.
