MobiFone surpasses Viettel in Fortune rankings

Among Vietnamese postal and telecommunications brands, MobiFone ranks above Viettel Post and Viettel Construction, and behind Viettel Global.

The Fortune 500 is an annual ranking of companies based on revenue, published by Fortune magazine. This ranking system includes smaller regional lists such as China, Europe, and Southeast Asia. The 2025 Fortune 500 Southeast Asia was announced on June 17.

In 2025, Vietnam will have 76 enterprises in the ranking. Petrovietnam is ranked first with a revenue of more than 22 billion USD . The Vietnamese postal and telecommunications brands on the ranking, in descending order, are Viettel Global, MobiFone, Viettel Post and Viettel Construction.

Viettel Global is a brand of Viettel Group investing in telecommunications business in 10 countries. The revenue of this corporation in 2024, used in the 2025 Fortune 500 Southeast Asia ranking, recorded by Fortune is more than 1.4 billion USD .

MobiFone recorded revenue of 965.5 million USD by Fortune . This is the third largest network operator in Vietnam in terms of both market share and revenue. MobiFone's market share is currently 18.5%, behind VinaPhone's 22.8% and Viettel Telecom's 56.6%, according to a report by the Ministry of Science and Technology.

However, with neither Viettel Telecom nor VinaPhone nor its two parent corporations, Viettel Group and VNPT, being ranked, MobiFone achieved the second highest ranking among Vietnamese postal and telecommunications enterprises on the Fortune list.

MobiFone ranked higher than postal brand Viettel Post with revenue of more than 827 million USD and telecommunications construction brand Viettel Construction with revenue of 503 million USD .

Companies are ranked by their most recent fiscal year revenue ending on or before Dec. 31, 2024, and all companies on the list must publicly disclose financial data and report some or all of their figures to a government agency, according to Fortune's explanation of the ranking methodology.
