(NLDO) - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has signed a decision to discipline Mr. Le Dinh Tho, former Deputy Minister of Transport .

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh signed Decision No. 1686/QD-TTg on disciplinary action against Mr. Le Dinh Tho, former Deputy Minister of Transport.

The decision clearly states that Mr. Le Dinh Tho, former member of the Party Executive Committee and former Deputy Minister of Transport, will be disciplined in the form of a reprimand for his violations and shortcomings in his work and has been subject to Party discipline. The disciplinary period will begin from the date of announcement of Decision No. 1826-QD/UBKTTW dated November 25, 2024 of the Central Inspection Commission .

Previously, from November 11 to 13, 2024, the Central Inspection Commission held its 50th meeting. At the meeting, implementing the direction of the Central Steering Committee on preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity; after reviewing the inspection results when there were signs of violations and the review results, proposing disciplinary action against the Party Committee of the Ministry of Transport, the Central Inspection Commission found that the Party Committee of the Ministry of Transport for the 2021-2026 term violated the principle of democratic centralism and working regulations; lacked responsibility, loosened leadership and direction, allowing the Ministry of Transport and many organizations and individuals to violate Party regulations and State laws in organizing the implementation of bid packages and projects implemented by Thuan An Group Joint Stock Company; A number of cadres and party members, including key cadres of the Ministry, violated Party regulations and State laws on preventing and combating corruption, waste, and negativity, and violated regulations on what party members are not allowed to do and the responsibility to set an example.

The above violations have caused serious consequences, risking huge losses of State money and assets, causing bad public opinion, reducing the reputation of Party organizations and State management agencies, to the point of requiring disciplinary action.

Mr. Le Dinh Tho, former member of the Party Executive Committee and Deputy Minister of Transport, also bears personal responsibility for the above violations and shortcomings.

Considering the content, nature, level, consequences, and causes of the violation; based on Party regulations, the Central Inspection Committee decided to discipline Mr. Le Dinh Tho, former member of the Party Executive Committee, Deputy Minister of Transport.

Mr. Le Dinh Tho used to hold the positions of Director of Thanh Hoa Department of Transport, Head of Nghi Son Economic Zone Management Board, Permanent Vice Chairman of Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee, General Director of Vietnam Road Administration.

In 2013, Mr. Le Dinh Tho was appointed by the Prime Minister as Deputy Minister of Transport; in May 2018, he was reappointed by the Prime Minister to hold the position of Deputy Minister of Transport.

According to Decision No. 1044/QD-TTg, Deputy Minister of Transport Le Dinh Tho will retire from January 1, 2024.
