Accordingly, Hai Phong City Police recommends that each social network user should equip themselves with knowledge and proactively improve their news capacity, identify and evaluate the reliability of information sources on social networks. Before sharing information on social networks, users need to verify the source of the news to avoid spreading fake information.

Along with that, social network users need to be vigilant against posts with content that causes panic, incites public opinion, unverified information from unofficial sources, and articles that exaggerate and exaggerate events to create negative effects.

Through the handling of violations of posting false information on social networks, Hai Phong City Police recommends that all citizens should: Read the entire article carefully, not just rely on the sensational title; check the image, link, and author of the article to determine the level of reliability; compare with official sources such as newspapers, electronic information portals of competent agencies and avoid sharing articles with confusing, unverified content.

People when using social networks need to pay attention to strictly comply with the provisions of the law.

According to Decree No. 15/2020/ND-CP, spreading false information can be fined 5-10 million VND for individuals and 10-20 million VND for organizations. Violating websites and social networks can be fined 20-70 million VND depending on the severity of the violation.

In addition, serious violations may be subject to criminal prosecution. If fake news or malicious news is detected, people can contact the nearest police agency directly or report information through the official platforms of the police agency.
