(CT) - According to the Department of Cultivation and Plant Protection under the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Can Tho City, up to now, the entire city has been granted 20 codes for packaging facilities and 571 codes for growing areas on fruit trees. Specifically, for growing area codes, 571 codes have been granted, with a total area of 9,383 hectares on key crops such as mango, star apple, longan, durian... eligible for export to the markets of the United States, Australia, Japan, Thailand, China, EU. For packaging facilities, 26 codes have been granted, with 17 participating enterprises.

Durian is grown in Truong Thanh commune, Can Tho city.

The Department of Crop Production and Plant Protection continues to coordinate with localities and relevant units to promote training activities, coaching, and support farmers and businesses in building growing area codes and fruit packing facility codes for export. At the same time, increasing the application of information technology in the construction and management of growing area codes and packing facility codes. Recently, many countries in the world have had regulations requiring fresh fruits from other countries that want to be exported to their country to be granted growing area codes and packing facility codes.
